You can't convert to Marcionism because the theology was lost.
People have roughly reconstructed what he thought based on what people who hated him described. Which is a very inexact science.
There's also the issue where the theology changed with time, with there being a mysterious 'God of Justice' that is included in late Marcionite practice, long after Marcion himself died.

Marcion believed that God and the God described in the Old Testament were different characters.
You have to reference back to Greek theology here, where Marcion divided creation up between the spiritual world and the material world.
The spiritual world was founded by the real God, but the material world was created by a demonic false God called YHWH who made this a realm to rule over brutishly.
We all have a spirit that is bound in a meat suit, but the spirit is actually our primary component. The spiritual world in general is the foundation for the universe, the material world exists conditionally because of it.
Jesus was sent by the real God, to help free us from this material prison through his teachings, but there wasn't any gnostic obscurantism here. Marcion believed that the text in the mainstream synoptic Gospels like the Gospel of Luke was enough to follow Jesus's path. And Paul's letters (without the controversial Pastoral Epistles) were the second half of Christ's theology. And that this was something to be spread as wide as possible and taught as clearly as possible.
