what’s the best way to practice drawing for NSFW at work? trying to get better at drawing porn, but obviously can't draw full-on nsfw stuff at work. what’s the best thing to practice in public/sfw spaces? anatomy? gestures? anatomy studies of non-lewd body parts (e.g., torsos, limbs, gesture drawings) be a good way?

also, do you actually get off to your own art? i don’t really, no matter how much planning i do or no planning etc. i get aroused by more than just visuals like sound, smell, etc so drawings alone don’t do it for me so i thought making my own would cut it but it never does.. makes me wonder what the point is if i can’t even cum to it. or is the point more about drawing what you want to see exist?

i’ve thought about animating but it’s so much effort. tried to animate and i was able to orgasm to my own stuff but it was traced from porn so it was basically the same thing and not with character inserts or anything.

so then i thought comics but then how do you balance story and porn? should there even be a story? do you prefer buildup or straight to the action? i really suck at making comics in general so how do i make them appealing?

My concept sketches are often worse than my 3D tracing … is it a given? Is truly possible to get better at drawing this kind of stuff from memory when you have almost 100% aphantasia?

3D just takes so long to set up. I usually spend hours setting up a pose.. and I don’t know if it’s worth it or if it’s stunting my growth or improving my skills.

Here’s an example illustrating my point. I have no idea if I’m growing as an artist or just ruining my growth. Should I just accept the time it takes to set up 3D? Trying to crunch studies and drawing from imagination and copious reference materials I end up fearing being caught copying other people’s art for poses. Yes, also clothing, hair, eyes, expressions. Composition and thumbnails too.
But also remember most people, ESPECIALLY older people, can't see what you're working on if it's sketchy and in a small sketchbook unless they get much closer and at the right angle. Remember they don't know what you're doing so they would have to stop and process it as well.
On a phone/tabletpc this is even more extreme because screens have narrow viewing angles.

A lot of self-insert art for me, but I have the self-awareness to not do it in cringey ways. All of my OCs are to some degree self-insert-y and I tend to make art of non-OC characters I can see myself in. It all amounts to an expression of feeling. I also make art for my GF sometimes. But sometimes yes it's what I want to see as well.

He can clearly make things look more firm and solid if he wants to, and many people already pointed it out - as such it would seem obvious that he does not want to stop using the translucent aliased brushes, and does not care to appeal to people who are of a different mentality.

Now, what you could instead try is pointing out other ways he can get a similar effect as suggestions to experiment with. Then he may try them out if it's within reason, and if he likes another way better he will switch.

The reasoning behind that is because chicken scratch does not develop line confidence, is extremely slow, and shows indecision. If someone is doing chicken scratch it's typically because their ENTIRE piece is chicken scratch. It's used as a crutch for people who haven't developed their pen control as much.

If his whole picture was blurry as fuck your critique would be pretty valid, but since he clearly CAN do things without it, you can infer that it's a stylistic choice. Controlling what is readable vs not is a form of composition to force the eyes around.

Now, does he do that effectively? You can critique him on that, and suggest better ways.

And no I am not him and I'm not invested in him, I'm invested in the shitty critique you (and possibly others) are giving. OK I think this is the issue, when I draw its usually at a bad angle on the table. I don't have a tablet, I pencil and ink trad then scan it in. I color on photoshop CS5 with a mix of paint bucket, my mouse and textures I've created.
