Likewise. I like the /beg/ nature of the first game it's heavy impasto like brush strokes really gives it a sense of style. The second game ... I'm not much of a fan of the style.
There was a Jreg video (I think it was his second channel where he's pretentious about 'art') where he talks about this person who makes music and how he enjoyed his early works, when he was figuring out how to make the things he want to but when he learned the fundamentals of what he was doing the music was generic- like everyone else's. The charm is in the imperfections of the art when it comes to this one. OP's example seems more like the artist is using crude tools to make okay art.
