I keep seeing this character, who is the artist?
Anonymous No.7683727
thats one of my fave art styles, i love mistakes in art, gives off the feeling that the artist drew it just for the love of drawing.

i love it when art is badly drawn but well animated too, that cant be beat.

Some people are just concentrating a more simple style and get very good at it. Then you can add details with lineweight and color.

i love seeing shity artist who only look at art from the surface level and thier messure art quality though fidelity and pixel count . the amount of thought and skill and experience that goes into a "shitty art" made by a good artist is something new artist cannot imagine . thigns like apealign artstyle , good subjects , pixel perfecty anatomy, pinpoint shading values .
go pick up pen and practice some more

Thatโ€™s how i feel about this franchise. The creatorโ€™s art is beg/int level and yet thereโ€™s a degree of knowledge of fundies that shoe through even if he canโ€™t execute them. I donโ€™t know what it is about the style but when I play the game it becomes very endearing and enjoyable.

I wouldn't classify your image as objectively shitty, but I think that when someone creates art and enjoys it, even stuff that lacks technical skill can have creative appeal (see pic related).

Even kids' drawings can be good examples imo

it has sovl. and in the sea of indieslop about le mental health, depresshun and surrealism, something like a grimdark fantasy game with lore enough to hook you up while not being a loredump feels nice and refreshing.

>I donโ€™t know what it is about the style but when I play the game it becomes very endearing and enjoyable.

Likewise. I like the /beg/ nature of the first game it's heavy impasto like brush strokes really gives it a sense of style. The second game ... I'm not much of a fan of the style.

There was a Jreg video (I think it was his second channel where he's pretentious about 'art') where he talks about this person who makes music and how he enjoyed his early works, when he was figuring out how to make the things he want to but when he learned the fundamentals of what he was doing the music was generic- like everyone else's. The charm is in the imperfections of the art when it comes to this one. OP's example seems more like the artist is using crude tools to make okay art.

My art has been described like that. I'm highly aware I'm dogshit but some anons found it kind of interesting :P.

It's what happens when you never studied the fundies but tried making art anyway xD.

that's not shit though? a simple art style does not equal shit art nor does it necessarily mean skill issue.

Just because you spent lot of time on something doesn't make it good. In artistic expression and presentation less is more. Draw more pics with less hassle for bigger impact.

Literally just porn and obvious sexual innuendos.

There is no freedom, if I draw big titty lady I get likes. If I draw something I'm genuinely interested in like a landscape it gets 0 attention.

Dang. Anyways, here's something I painted back when Shin Godzilla was the big thing and I was still a low-int. I think "shitty art" that has soul can really only come from artists that have high confidence and low skill. That's not necessarily a bad thing, either. They're untrained in a lot of areas, but they also care enough to finish whatever piece they're working on because it's their art. They're at the very peak of the skill curve before they realize just how much of a beg they really are, so they haven't quite reached that mindset of pros that hate their work, but they're also not begs that are asking questions that a simple Google search could answer.

Thats just heavily stylized but you can tell the person that drew it has a pretty good understanding of the fundamentals, so I wouldnt label it as "shitty art".
