i'm scared nobody gonna care about my passion project, i have a lot of ideas in the back burners, but there never really flesh out, other then sketches.

did my big project and blew it up already after 16 months of work lmao.
that was like a month ago and I'm now just drawing aimlessly at this point

just don't add american political crap into your work and your chances will increase. you people have this nasty habit of trying to get a message across about minorities and shit instead of creating something fun in its own isolated world/setting. I'm 24, I wasted the last 3 ish years crying and depressed over life issues. In that time people behind me, and my peers went wayyyyy fucking past me. I used to be the skilled guy or that's what I told myself, now I'm just a pre-beg bitch nigga while mfs are earning 6 figs / got their lives sorted out. I thought I'd specialize into something and gotten to advanced levels by now but I'm worse off that I was starting out. Anyways it's over my best years are behind me, all passion burnt, only envy and self-loathing.

I finished three pages of my comic, it's taking longer than I thought, I have 17 pages left and It can potentially take multiple months to finish but it's pretty fun and I will shill it allot when I'm finished with it and have it printed

Definitely true, although making shorter projects/ other ideas before your main one is probably a better idea, cause you might ruin your dream project.

Also studying is alot better when you actually know what to study as well, alot of my comic studies and figure drawings are better.

Problem is that you might put alot of effort into to something not good. I've (mostly) finished the first chapter of my comic, and I honestly dont know if people would even keep reading it/ if its good enough to be printed cause the arts pretty mediocre, even though the people I've shown it to say the storys good.

Point is though, I've gotten alot better and its given me a goal to autistically focus on getting 5 pages done a week

Honestly its probably closer to 3-4 counting that I've gotta scan it in, and spend a few days each 10 or so pages, adding tone and words, but I aim for 5 every week, and honestly probably get 4 done more often than 5. Also I'm relatively fast compared to other people here cause my arts mid.

For this short story I was getting some of these completely done during work nights (from 7-12.30), turning on music or a podcast and locking in. drawing anthros is sorta easier than humans

I tried dabbling with 3d modelling with the faciful notion of making vidya one day but I kind of got burned out on that when I realized how much fucking work making 3d models out of my designs actually is and how much I hate shit like weight painting etc for the models. In the time span that it took for me to make even just this simple shitty model out of this design I could have made many more drawings which is why I ended up rolling back to just drawing shit because it felt more productive to me than 3d modelling.

As for making games in general, I just don't have the mind for coding etc so it is kind of a pipe dream, at least if I were to go about all of that alone.

I wouldn't sweat the code right now if you aren't up to it. Try making a game manual with mock up screenshots and stuff.

It'll help you get in a mindset where you can have intent for your designs. 3d models are ass to design but isometric stuff isn't so bad if you're willing to take a Starcraft style pipeline.

I'll drop a screenshot of my basically dead project. This started as nothing more than something I did after reading Vermis. I managed to make the UI entirely functional in RPGmaker of all things with stuff like candles that deplete based on health and such.

What I'm trying to say is that if you start with a mock up, you might find you'll have a desire to go a bit further. I think an RTS is a lot of work but you could always start very small like two units.

That could be an interesting direction to take the project. At the moment I am working on just making sort of faction infographics that detail their soldiers and weapons, somewhat similarly to how 40k armybooks work though there is just lore in those images, no actual rules or stuff like that.

I've read the tigress one and a bit of your main, and I like it, but I have some criticism
my main nitpick is with your characters, they aren't bad per se, but they lack appeal, in some panels they feel very flat like in the restaurant scene
one thing that is in my opinion the best in your comics is the backgrounds especially in the first two pages of wealth for toil, those are beyond kino and I hope I can achieve something like that one day

Thanks alot for the critique, definitely gotta get better at drawing people, Im doing a fair few studies of characters and poses so that should help. The designs for my main characters aren’t interesting, and while that was sorta purposeful, as there quickly gonna change alot, I made them too uninteesting, and I might go back to add some flair to them.

At least though Im gonna be able to change them alot as the story goes on, as the streamer girls basically gonna become a zombie, her manager is gonna get a very injured, and the fat waitress girl is gonna be turned into an amazonian like model, so I can look at redesigning them accordingly when these events happen soon

I disagree. I’m in my mid 30s too. Mark Twain was right when he said most men die at 25. 95% of people my age basically just work, binge drink, and watch sports and gamble. No personality whatsoever, just mindless consumption. The west is actually fucking doomed. If you are above 30 and have some sort of hobby whatsoever, you are already more interesting than most. There is no better time to start becoming a better person than right now.
