I prefer Final Fantasy VIII, but I really liked those games more for the detailed environments and music than I did the gameplay.

Speaking of which, with AI art and Final Fantasy games from that era being pre-rendered backgrounds, you could easily make expansion content for these games with AI art. Pay someone to trace an outline of the environment, feed it through an AI with the right prompts, and just touch up the generated image in photoshop.

I really enjoyed the world, though with the caveat that as far as JRPGs do not respect your time, this has a QTE battle system on top of that. If that doesn't bother you, you may be in for a treat.
