That is not true and you're stretching it so you have some ground to stand on with your dishonest arguing. Brazilians only claim the truth here - that ~40% max of the country is white ("white" beiing majority Southern European blood, with a relatively large Northern European minority within it, and a small Eastern European Minority as well). That doesn't equal saying most Brazilians aren't brown but you don't want to accept that because of your bias against Brazil and Brazilians since in your mind whiter = better and Brazil has to be bad.

I think "real" white Brazilians are between 1/4th and 1/3th of the country, so 25% to 33% max. Some Brazilians from the browner regions will claim it has to be less than that because they have a distorted view of reality (not too differently from foreigners). Meanwhile other Brazilians who really want to be white will claim it's at least the official 40% reported by the national survey or even more somehow and I think that's bullshit as well because lightskin pardos which are mixed people count and self-report as white in most of Brazil.
I'm saying this as a Brazilian from the whitest state in the country (Santa Catarina) who's been to 4 other states in 3 other regions (the cities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, and Recife).

Half of the population is mixed, most of the whites are Portuguese or Italian white, most of the blacks are just darker mixed people or recent immigrants. So in Brazil it doesn't really make sense to be discussing black and white in absolutes, most people say they are x by the color. The South is different since the immigration is fairly recent and they have a lot of cultural heritage
