In Germany every region has plenty of local food which is very popular. There are plenty of restaurants with foreign cuisines too but Italian is just one of them.

Also, I've never been to Slovenia but I've been to a few ex-Yugoslav cunts and there local cuisine is very much celebrated and cherished. It can't be that different in Slovenia.

most of the dishes eaten in Slovenia today were not eaten here before the late 20th century, like Serbian kebabs, borek and sour cabbage rolls or pizza and spaghetti in marinara. One of the oldest dishes recorded in Slovenia is fried chicken, from the 17th century, which I guess is an early north Italian influence. Another is žganci, boiled buckwheat dough, which is prepared similarly to polenta, and pogača, the Italian focaccia.

Podpłomyk differs from focaccia in that it is a simpler yeast dough, often baked without yeast, resulting in a flatter, thinner, and crispier baked product. Focaccia is a thicker, fluffier olive oil, and often herbs or sea salt

I haven't even touched the sausages that we specialize in.
This is kabanosy, everyone who ate for them longs for them until deathbed.

Kabanos is a long, thin, dry sausage usually made of pork which originated in Poland. They are smoky in flavor, and can be soft or very dry in texture depending on freshness. Typically, they are quite long, but very thin, with a diameter around 1 cm, and folded in two, giving them a characteristic appearance.
