By "them" I presume you mean a random one as opposed to all of them because I'm strictly monogamous and I imagine youkai would be too. But I dunno, whatever she wanted me to do I guess. I'm also a hopeless romantic, so I'd be happy to do things like give her praise, and practically any more intimate tasks you'd expect a husband to do.

She actively goes out of her way to improve things, like stopping wild animals from becoming youkai that would attack humans. As for the Watatsukis, I think it's not easy to say, but I think on average, Toyohime would take it better, provided the reason for the rejection doesn't involve her true shark-crocodile-dragon form.

How I think each of the protagonists would react to rejection:

Reimu: Shock which quickly gives way to anger. She's so used to coasting through life, never really trying yet still succeeding, that the thought you might refuse her never crossed her mind. She would quickly go from frustrated to seething mad, insisting that you "obviously don't know what's best for you" and that she'll just have to "make you understand". She would start threatening you, which would then escalate into actual violence. In the end, she'll probably end up dragging you into the back of the shrine and raping you.

Marisa: For a second, her face would morph into a mask of pure anguish, but she'd quickly replace it with a strained smile. She'd probably try to deflate the tension by joking around about how "you probably like Reimu better anyway" or that "Men really do prefer them big, huh?" but would only make things more awkward. She'd say she hopes you two can keep being "best buds" and that this "doesn't end up making things weird between us or anything" with a tremble in her voice. She'd excuse herself, her head bowed so as not to make eye contact with you, and hurriedly leave. Of course, the moment she gets home, she'd start bawling her eyes out, babbling pitifully about how "it's not fair" or repeatedly yelling "why?". She would probably be crying herself to sleep every night for quite a while.

Sakuya: She'd cast her gaze downwards for a moment, and simply answer with "...I see.". She would apologize for "having shown you something unbecoming" and would quickly excuse herself by saying she has duties to attend to, seemingly already over it. If you were more observant, however, you might have noticed the slight lilt in her voice as she spoke, her refusal to meet your gaze, or the fact that her hands, tightly clutching the hem of her skirt, were shaking...

Youmu: "Wh-b-but-but-why, I, I, I don't under...stand..." she'd stammer out before collapsing to the ground and breaking down into inconsolable sobbing, babbling incoherently about how "this isn't how Yuyuko-sama said it would go" In her desperation, she'd start clinging to you pathetically, begging you not to leave her, saying that she "needs you" and that she'll "do anything if you'll just be by her side." Yuyuko would then intervene, apologizing on Youmu's behalf for the trouble, before kneeling down to console her, stroking her hair and whispering comforting words, and eventually taking her away.

Reisen: The sheer emotional turmoil of the moment would be enough to trigger her into having a panic attack, as she'd start sweating profusely and hyperventilating, her hands shaking wildly. Concerned, you'd immediately rush to her side, staying with her until it passed, comforting and reassuring her. Afterwards, she'd look at you meaningfully, as if she'd just made up her mind about something, before saying that "you're far too kind, even to someone like me" and that "there's absolutely no way I can hand you over to anyone else" before pouncing on you, bringing her face close to yours, forcing you to stare into those enchanting red eyes...

Sanae: "O-Oh...I, um,...I see." she'd say, fidgeting awkwardly, trying her absolute best to stay composed in front of you. She might mumble something about the "love" omikuji she had drawn earlier having assured her this would go well, twirling her hair around her finger. Eventually, though, her pasted-on smile would crack, tears starting to form at the corners of her eyes. "Oh-oh no...I,uh, I really didn't want you to see me like this, haha...I'm sorry, I must be making you really uncomfortable..." she'd say, between pained gasps and sobs. "It 's uh, it's kinda funny, but...t-this was the one miracle I most desperately wanted to come true, haha...". "U-um, I hope this doesn't dissuade you from visiting the shrine whenever you feel like it, though! I-*sniffle*- I'd still love to have you!" she'd say, trying to deceive you and herself with a patchwork facade of cheerfulness. "Um, I'll see you later, then!" she stammers out before running back into her shrine. Even from out here, though, you can hear her anguished sobs, echoing across the empty shrine grounds...

That's why you're always hanging out with me, right?". Crouching down to match her eye level, you explain to her that while you're happy she likes you so much, you don't feel that way about her, that she's always been like a cute little sister to you. I like you, so you have to like me! You...have to....". As the air around her rapidly cools, you take a few steps back, but quickly find yourself encircled by a wall of ice. Yeah I'll never get hating Kasen, she's pretty much gone out of her way to help or get rid of dangerous stuff for people and the stuff she exclaims even to herself (so, no deception) tells us she's of good character. ZUN even says the dumb antics every chapter rubbed off on her by the end of WaHH in the afterword.
The guy she killed for making lightning was deliberately harming the village at everyone's expense too after being taught otherwise. Vengeful spirits are also hazardous to human life and literally send you to hell instead of the netherworld as is standard.
As for the arm, the whole split is genuinely down to the spirit itself. All the evil spirit was forced into it, essentially leaving her without the desire to do anything malicious unlike the arm. At that point it's fair to say they are only related, not the same in my opinion. And by the end of the manga she more or less imprisoned it in one of the safest corners of Gensokyo, probably to use it to train to eventually become a greater hermit or a celestial based on how she was previously performing her training.
In SCoOW (not technically canon but it has what's basically a WaHH epilogue-epilogue with Komachi) it's pretty clear she's worried about any negative effect of rejoining with the arm would've had on her and Azmaya had the actual storyboard for WaHH to get to know the character.
The most you can blame her for is setting up an elaborate scheme where Reimu was in danger just cause she was afraid of revealing her secret, which is low-key made fun of because her increasing slopiness (see: hakurei land) almost ruined the plan if not for Tenshi
I do wonder how she'd take a rejection though, we do get a lot of downtime from her.

...Inside, things are even worse than you feared. Even on her best days, Marisa's place had never really been what one could call "tidy", with magical knicknacks, baubles and trinkets littering just about every surface, heavy tomes haphazardly stacked on one another, and odd, unidentifiable reagents lining the shelves, but even then, there was a certain method to the madness. It always seemed like she knew exactly where to find whatever she was looking for, even in this chaos. Now, though...it looked like someone had come through and ransacked the place. I, um, know I should probably clean up, but it's...been kinda tough to...get myself to do much of anything, these days, haha...", she says, casting her gaze downwards. "A-anyway, let's just go to my room!". She suddenly grips your hand, dragging you upstairs. ...She sits on the edge of her bed, her legs dangling aimlessly. You take a seat in her desk chair, brushing aside a pile of dirty clothes. She clears her throat loudly. "So! What, uh,...what did you want to tell me?", she says, with a mock cheerfulness that does nothing to hide the trembling in her voice. Steeling yourself, you stare directly into her eyes and give her the most sincere apology you could possibly muster. You tell her you're sorry for never noticing how she felt, sorry for hurting her, sorry for leaving her alone when she obviously needed help...and most of all, sorry that, even now, you can't give her the answer she wants. You care for her deeply, as a close friend, and would absolutely never want to see her hurt, but telling her what she wants to hear simply so she'll feel better would be a betrayal of both your own principles and her trust in you. The fact that you want to help her will never change, no matter what happens. As you speak, her nervous excitement deflates and her eyes go wide with disbelief. Once you finish, she stares at you, mouth agape.

"What...the fuck...are you saying...?"

"You came all the way here...just to say that? You...you made me like this...and you think you can just fucking shrug and say you're sorry...?"

If you can't do what I want you to, then what good is your "help"?". Standing up and dusting yourself off, you tell her that you'll just have to prove your desire to help her through action. Starting with giving her a hand getting this place in order! You turn your back to her for just a moment, and--

Something...heavy...your head...hurts.

Somewhere above you, you hear a loud gasp. "N-NO! I-I DIDN'T M-MEAN TO! I-I JUST--" Through the haze, you feel a presence next to you. "Y-you're bleeding! I, uh, w-wait--". You try to speak, but only manage to moan incoherently. "Shh-shh, it's fine, y-you'll be fine, I promise, I can t-totally heal a wound like this!"
Gradually, her labored breathing slows down. "B-but, you know...I guess this means you'll have to stay here for a while, r-right? O-Or maybe...you could just stay here forever...? I mean, you're just an outsider, after all...it's not like anyone would care if you went missing, right? Yeah. Yeah! It's decided! Really, I should've just done this from the start!". As your consciousness fades, the last image you see is of Marisa, wearing a blissful, lovestruck smile...

The biggest issue is that most Vengeful Spirits are not likely to be guilty of anything more than getting eaten by youkai, given that we know (I believe from SoPM) that someone's corpse being messed with by a youkai before they reach the Sanzu automatically makes them a VS. That said, it isn't 100% certain whether she soul-killed them or pulled a Youmu and sent them to Nirvana.

Evidence points to this being incorrect, much like most of Kasen's other statements about the Arm. She's generally very harsh on herself and externalized all of that onto the Arm, which is probably the biggest case of her going back on her usual ideals and being a hypocrite.
As for how Kasen would handle rejection, I think her generally high standards for herself would probably end up even more pronounced. We already see how fiercely she tries to improve as a person, and similarly how she tends to fall for indulgences like snacking on treats in spite of that likely contradicting hermit asceticism. Her immediate reaction would probably have her keep her composure, but she'd be judging herself pretty harshly after the fact, wondering exactly why she "isn't good enough." This, in turn, would no doubt lead to even more indulging in things to take her mind off of it, and probably more lectures to Reimu as well. In an extreme scenario, she might even start to blame herself just for having such feelings at all. After all, attachments like that would just get in the way of her reaching heaven, right?
Just, whatever you do, don't let her Arm out if she's in that state.

The manga outright tells us that they drag humans to hell just by being there, even if the cause of their death was unfair, this doesn't leave any reason to keep them around regular people (hence they are banned from the surface) and I guarantee you would not want to be anywhere near one yourself. I think getting rid of them is unfortunate but fair to do.

The complaint from Komachi and co is always about them being removed from the cycle not unlike with Youmu's sword. I find it likelier that is because it's doing the same thing, since they aren't judged as they should be and skip the due process

I've never liked this idea of ignoring what is said explicitly in favor of deep diving for secret lore, there's very little evidence pointing to her having any kind of evil spirit within herself after the fact, you essentially have to invent a reason for her to lie about herself to herself for no communicated reason, but I will at least say that she has the playfulness of an oni at times like when she drink battled Mamizou and sometimes winds up into creating dangerous situations of purpose, but usually with some plans in mind, but for her that's probably more about playing a character than acting in complete sincerity. But as the literal raws of the manga say, it's not because she's filled with evil spirit (translated as maliciousness for some reason) at least. As for the arm itself, it is literally its own sapient creature who continues the will to kill and maim stuff, calling her responsible for what happened in the past is pretty apt since it's like splitting the schizophrenia from a person into their own individual.

It's also stated that ghosts bring people closer to death with their presence in earlier works, but Yuyuko going around when she does leave the Netherworld is never really made a big deal out of. For better or worse that's another informed attribute like how Vengeful Spirits possessing youkai is supposed to be an existential threat to them per SoPM.

It's said by Kasen's own internal monologue and multiple points in the last few chapters clearly disprove some of her assumptions, such as the fact that the Arm was very blatantly unaware of anything going on outside its box. The notion that "all of her malice was sealed into it" is questionable, and as you acknowledge yourself, the more reasonable part of her "oni essence" being sealed into it still has flaws with an absolute interpretation.

You don't really have to invent a reason either, it's pretty normal behavior for a person to create justifications to themselves, and this goes doubly for Kasen wanting to keep her identity and nature secret in addition to the matter of her self-image.

The Arm honestly gets a way worse rap than she really merited, especially if you take the time to consider what her perspective would've been for the little we saw of her. Reimu showing up in Avicii was noted to be an exceptional thing, and given the Arm's ignorance of everything outside her box, we can conclude she likely wasn't aware of any effects she was having on the humans that came to the temple where it was stored. (and that's already a detail that could've used elaboration.) Having a mentality on the relationship between humans and youkai that dates back to the Heian Era, and suddenly having a powerful human show up, it's impressive if anything that she was relaxed as she was. Given that she mostly seems to just want to be reunited with her body, she probably could've been very easily reasoned with, and the only reason things got as bad as they did in the last chapter is specifically because Kasen didn't even plan on giving her the slightest chance, all while blaming her for their shared sins.
