>Given this skepticism, the British government has stepped in to propose Rolls-Royce as a co-development partner, offering an intermediary step before full domestic capability is achieved. British officials argue that such a collaboration would de-risk the program, expedite development, and establish a durable industrial relationship. Rolls-Royce has publicly expressed interest in contributing to other nations’ combat aircraft capabilities and is simultaneously pursuing a similar co-development deal with India for the AMCA program. While Rolls-Royce has not commented officially on the KF-21 project, it has emphasized the strategic benefits of co-creating intellectual property, allowing partner countries to maintain full operational sovereignty and export flexibility.

>Rolls-Royce’s proposal does not center on selling an off-the-shelf engine like the EJ200, which powers the Eurofighter Typhoon, but rather on co-developing a new engine that could surpass the F414 in terms of both thrust and efficiency. This proposed engine, which may also benefit from technological synergies with the UK-Japan-Italy Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), would be built from the ground up with South Korean partners and would include full intellectual property transfer. Rolls-Royce has offered a similar model to India for its AMCA fighter, with a target thrust level of around 110 kN.

I see no point in this cooperation since this is an obvious bait and switch tactics.

The only sound proposal bongs ever proposed is when they tried to attack the USSR without the US consent.

It is important to note that the new Leader of South Korea is seen as pro peace by many in both the RoK and USA. As a result of this you may see many propaganda posts denigrating the RoK in the near future by several factions.

Expect to see odd things in terms of Korean related shills soon.

FYI, South Korea is already developing its indigenous 10k lb engine with the help of Doosan Enerbility, a company that has successfully developed 380MW gas turbine with a TIT of 1,680°C(higher than 1,649 °C of F119) recently.
https://www.doosan.com/en/media-center/press-release_view?id=20172690
https://www.doosanenerbility.com/en/about/news_board_view?id=21000611
>Doosan’s foray into the aircraft engine business has already started. The company is currently participating in the “10,000 lbf* gas turbine engine development for unmanned aerial vehicles,” a project led by the Agency for Defense Development. The project consists of a total of three initiatives, with Doosan Enerbility taking on two of the initiatives deemed as being the most challenging and involving key technologies. Doosan will be leading the “engine layout design and components analysis” and the “casting & forging of turbine vanes/blades and post-processing” initiatives, with the aim to complete the basic design by 2027. Doosan is also working on the conceptual design of an advanced aircraft engine**, a work that was commissioned by the Korean government in an effort to secure Korea’s own fighter jet engine technology.
Once this engine is ready, they're using it as a base for 16k lb engine that's meant to be mounted on KF-21. Rolls Royce is just uppity because Koreans are advancing at a record pace.

Or the Worst Koreans still can't make a turbojet 60 years after their better halves could figure out a RD-45/VK1.

They've already finished the development of 5.5k lb engine which shares the same core with the larger 10k lb engine that's in development.

And lower than the improved F119 core, the F135 (1,700 - 1,720 ºC)
Siemens and MHI can make +1700ºC industrial turbines (and proposals for +1800ºC) but that isn't transferable to military turbofans because they require different working conditions (far worse creep stress and operational variability)

>Siemens and MHI can make +1700ºC industrial turbines
Last time I checked GE was making H class generator turbines with a max TIT of 1650°C in 2017. The only difference between commercial and military grade jet engines is Re content, which is a scarce and expensive rare earth metal that's critical for increasing the heat endurance.

The reality is that the chinks had never fully replicated CFM56 tech from the 70s. Their much touted state-of-the-art WS-15 engine has only achieved a max TIT of 1,580°C after myriads of delays and failures, which is still far behind that of F135 or even the F119 from the 90s. And now they're celebrating the first ever domestically produced F-class gas turbine which only has a temp range between 1300-1400°C, while every top tier gas turbine producers including Doosan are producing H+ class gas turbines that sit around +1600°C.

Considering the fact that GCAP has a minimum timeline of entering service by 2040, making a full fledged fighter jet engine until the end of 2030s is a pretty damn bold move.

Doosan is not top tier lol. They have a single 1600C model and it has 40% efficiency from 2 years ago. The MHI J series that came out a decade ago generally operate above 60% efficiency. If Korea had a top tier industry then they wouldn't keep buying Japanese ones especially for their largest GTCC.

>Doosan is not top tier lol
Doosan has only started launching its own models since 2019 and it's already churning out new model every 2 years. It has won a $1.5 billion deal from Saudi Arabia recently.
https://www.kedglobal.com/energy/newsView/ked202503130003
Also, your knowledge is a bit outdated since the model being discussed here is S2+, not S2. It has a thermal efficiency of 63% which is on par with that of Siemens.
>Even Doosan started out just license producing MHI GTs
Doosan's predecessor Korea Heavy Industries was already license producing gas turbines from GE in the 90s.

LOL thats to actually build the facilities, but they will be using MHI GTs for actual generation

>Also, your knowledge is a bit outdated since the model being discussed here is S2+, not S2.
>Outdated
The S2 literally hasn't even entered production yet and is expected this month. The S2+ is still in development. Even then it's still generating 40-50mW less than GE and MHI.
