It is nice in the sense that I think it's the absolute longest I could go while still being able to pull off IWB carry if I want to. the compact is an amazing, reliable, soft shooting, and relatively unique compact that has a very specialized aftermarket that can upgrade it to be one of the best compact guns in the market

the full size is a cringe ass excuse for a duty pistol and you're better off buying one of a hundred thousand other more reliable and better supported pistols

The design peaks at compact, if you're gonna go full size you might as well just buy something better.

Don't waste you time with silver. Silver is for the poors. Stack gold. It doubled in price in the past 5 years. It was about $300 per once 25 years ago. Think about much our money depreciated over that time.

I am very interested in a .45 2011 with a traditional look, but I don't want to pay $5K for it. Turkish gunmakers are going to totally take over the budget 2011 market once they get their shit together. I have a Tisas 2011 and I like the fact that it looks somewhat like a traditional 1911. I'm not saying anything bad about the spacegun looking 2011s; it's just not my style. If Tisas made one in .45, that would be a shut up and take my money kinda deal. I am eyeing up the Girsan 2311 hard. I might buy that for myself as a Christmas present. Next cheapset option is the Kimber 2k11, but it's a Kimber.

Ernest Langdon is the only reason the px4 series is still relevant. He originally wanted to find a DA alternative to the g19, so the compact is what he focused on.

The px4 was designed around the .40 so the compact used a .40 barrel and I think the full size used a 9mm barrel with less mass. Recently, Beretta and Langdon released the px4 G-SD full size model, which uses a similar 9mm bull barrel to the compact. It's supposed to be the softest shooting model.

Kinda crazy they even made the subcompact as they had to design it with a tilting barrel, but I still like the size of it and prefer the extra grip it has over something like a g26.

Looks like the px4 is a pistol with the least amount of size difference between models.

Frankly I dont see the point of getting rid of it for either of them. The SP-01 is just a modernized and improved CZ-75, and the P-01 is in turn just a compact version of the SP-01, so you'd be getting basically the same gun in a slightly different form factor. Not worth the money to trade 'up' for those two, so I'd maybe suggest going with something that's actually tangibly different.

Its funny how bitchy people get over sig making a single shitty gun

They have been renowned for poor finishing and QC for a while
And the P365 has a revised set of internal safeties that are free of flaws, demonstrating that they do in fact know how to make a gun that doesn't go off on its own
And yet the P365 xmacro/xl trigger failures (and various p365 striker/spring issues) indicate shitty QC is still a problem

Lots of companies have made shitty guns, and even many shitty guns in a row. But glorious sig is the only one where if the shitty gun is really shitty (its not! everyone is shooting themselves and making shit up! leave sig alone! all of it is made up! reeeeee! anti-sig shills!) this will clearly end second amendment rights forever and lead to total gun industry collapse.

But actually people are just buying marginally more HKs and glocks than before

Pretty much everything on the USP is massive. Thick polymer, thick slide, the recoil assembly is all metal and heavy. It was originally built around 40sw, so you can really beat on it. The safety/decocker spring is stiff, the standard sights are steel. Youd have to make a deliberate effort to actually kill it.

The slide finish is my one criticism; the tenifer that glock and walther used is better imo

RMR type 2 is still a effective optic, it's hilariously ancient but still works. There are some Tan Holosuns, they're okay, better than the RMR in many quality of life features but the RMR is still regarded as more bomb proof.

>I've never shot a pistol with a dot before and everybody says its the best thing for pistols since sliced bread.
yeah. instead of aligning front and rear you just put the dot on the target and pull the trigger. you can effectively track the sight through recoil (red streak) and can put the red streak on target at speed. There's a learning curve to be able to draw the gun and have the dot on the target, but once you master that you become a better shooter in general since you have to develop an "index" where you understand how your body changes where the sight is.

in competition shooting red dot vs iron classifiers, red dots are 25% faster par times. Meaning a red dot shooter is expected to clear a stage/drill 25% faster.

Stay far away from Trijicon if you want visibility. Any of those would be fine though FDE options are extremely limited. Vortex has a lifetime warranty Trijicon is 3 years I think Holosun is 2 years Sig I don't know. They're all in the same ballpark of beating things with the optic but the RMR is more durable against gforces aka shooting. Not worth the other tradeoffs you have to make though. Just get an enclosed optic from Holosun Sig or Cyelee.

I'm pretty sure i can just slap my compact RDO slide, the langdon trigger bar, the lighter springs, the match hammer, etc, and an x300 to make it an amazing gun that i can actually carry.

but should i spend the 500 dollars on basically just a frame with a rail and some bulk fuckin parts or should i buy an LTT elite with RMR optics cut? theres basically all my 2020-2024 soul into my current beretta but is it even worth preserving that when i can just buy an LTT elite compact new? How a gun statically feels in your hand has little correlation to how well you hold it when you are shooting so I've found. Early on in my pistol journey I found the same phenomenon with a Glock 19. I didn't think it was the best pistol by any means but renting it at the range I found I shot it really really well. Amusingly I still don't own a Glock 19 and have gone off and bought other goofy dumb pistols but lately I have been returning to Glock and will eventually get a 19. When people bitch about Glocks they are noshoots 99% of the time

Nah, that's horseshit. While it's true that holding someone isn't the same as how it is under recoil, most people have to really convince themselves to like Glock over a lot of shooting sessions OR they didn't know there were other things out there. This has been my experience as well, and funnily enough it was with a Glock 19. Even stranger, I also have many a goofy and weird pistols, but not a Glock 19. I've shot plenty of them as most of my friends and family have a Glock 19, and everyone I know except my grandmother owns a Glock of some type. My wife has a 43X, but myself? I don't own a single Glock. But I love them, specifically the 19.

Just got done with a patagonia hiking trip where we brought a giant 2 liter thermos and sipped yerba mate as we hiked. Its like gatoraide and coffee mixed since it's chock full of vitamens as well as caffine. When you make it fresh you have to put the stuff in your cup, then shake it around with your hand covering the opening and then dust off your hand since the dust is painfully bitter. The first cup or so also taste like shit until it mellows out.

Anyways I was gonna type more but I realized I was just explaining why sugar free monsters are the thinking mans energy choice.

Happened to me with the Berretta APX. On paper it was everything I wanted but the takedown lever rubs my thumbs weird when I shoot it. And as long as I'm shitting on the 43x, the FN Reflex is WAY worse. It's snappy as hell and the trigger is way too light for a carry pistol, but worse there is no discernable wall so it just is "squeeBANG" instead of "squeeze, wall, breakBANG". I was going to buy one but luckily my local range had a rental, otherwise I would have bought and sold that thing. Once again, this is for the stuff that you can always buy another time. If it's some rare 1960s heirloom or something then of course you should hang on to it for sentimental value.

>>64137581
They were OBSESSED with it down there, like the airport has a special hot water fountain just for it with it's own dedicated yerba mate trash can I assume gets composted. I'll pick up a can of the stuff on this road trip I'm on and let you know how authentic it is to the real stuff, but the real stuff was REAL cheap down there. A 1/4 cup of the stuff last for a coffee pots worth of water.

The exact same pistol at the exact same rental counter with that same mag worked perfectly for me like 4-5 months before that. I even liked it more than the glock 19 gen 5, trigger and ergos like slide release and mag release especially. I think as long as you keep it well oiled it would be a great option, but this is something I don't see other folks talking about so I figured it would be worth mentioning.
