Few people do his kind of practical tests and demonstrations, and even fewer with his dedication or honestly, this was along with his genuine real world practical qualifications.
Paul was a guy who wasn't just an infantryman in a war, and wasn't just an experienced hunter and awarded sport shooter, he was someone who had been forced to kill to defend himself and others in civilian life on two separate occasions, which really gives a special bit of extra experience for someone who tries to give advice on carry and defensive gun usage.
Add being reasonably humble about his qualifications, not treating his viewer as an idiot, and having a knack for making a good presentation with some good dry wit.
