do you not pass? then no, you are bad optics and stuff and if you ever talk about this again you're ruining the lives of everyone around you

deciding to call yourself that or not sure, but BEING trans isn't something you can choose. if you don't call yourself trans it doesn't mean your brain changes and you become cis

idk nonna that's for you to figure out

i'm not your shrink, i'm but an anon in a sea of anons in the interwebs. i'd go give the gender dysphoria bible a read and see if any of it seems interesting, and beyond that do some thinking but please please keep an open mind. we humans have extremely stupid notions of gender that, like it or not, play a massive role in how we're percieved by ourselves and others, but despite being stupid they aren't set in stone constants

there isn't a tranny orthodoxy, you aren't gonna get ousted by the gender inquisition for figuring yourself out. maybe you're trans, maybe you just dislike typically masculine features on yourself, idk because i'm not you nor do i know you

I maintain that if you don't know you're trans by the age of 6 then you're just memeing yourself in to it. if you have to ask am i trans? Then you're not trans it's an innate sense of self and when you find out what trans is you instantly think oh that's what I am that explains why I feel like this.

dysphoria is not a choice but being transgender is. op can do whatever it is they feel is right and i am not about to tell them that transitioning is the answer

6 year olds didn't know trannies existed until 10 years ago. this could only possibly apply to people who are literally still children

do you believe someone could transition without dysphoria? i don't think it's a good idea but i know that it is a thing that a person could conceivably do, and i can't justify calling someone who has transitioned cisgender, even if they aren't dysphoric. so if non-dysphoric people can be transgender, dysphoric people can be cisgender, i think, by choosing not to transition.

this is why we need to bring back transsexual, because there are absolutely cissexual people who identify as transgender.

that same non-dysphoric transitioner could lie their way through the gauntlet and get SRS, too. i can't imagine why anyone would, but that it is possible necessarily means, to me, that it is a choice.
in any event i just want op to know that they are the only person who can answer their own question. i'm only debating semantics because i like words

this is exactly why i want a word specifically for dysphoric transsexuals. someone who is born and dies repressing but has genuine GD is someone i can relate to infinitely more than a transmaxxer. the former has the same nature as me, but fewer opportunities. the later has a different nature, but the same opportunities. i see it as like if we had recreational chemo users showing up in cancer support groups

generally, transgender people are those who experience or have experienced gender dysphoria and/or euphoria. cisgender people are those who do not and have never.
but obviously there are exceptions to every rule. i don't really get the point of your question

trutrans? distasteful as it may be nowadays....but any other word invented is just going to a new coat of paint on the same meaning (like "amab"/"biological male" etc), right? i am not sure we will get better than that. although agab seemed to do the job, so maybe it really is just that we need a new word lol.
whenever i'm talking about this stuff, though, i usually just specify either dysphoric or non-dysphoric (trans-whatever), and it's worked out fine for me, although it isn't quite as elegant as a single word, i suppose
>>40337442
>i don't really get the point of your question
semantics. i'm just justifying my use of the word "choice" to no-one on an anonymous underwater basket-weaving forum. for all intents and purposes, you're right, and i probably should have instead worded it "transitioning is your choice", but i do see the whole thing as a choice, personally.
