Yamato Takeru is irritating, Shitkeklion 3 is the worst series, and Legends of The Galactic Juxtaposition is not impressive. Also Gavv is the second worst Kamen Rider series after Build. That's about it on my end.

I'm reading Gundam the Origin and the flashback is kinda lame. It really didn't need that many cameos and it makes the world feel a lot smaller. It's good overall but it just has some annoying changes. For instance, making Haro a toy instead something Amuro build. For what reason take away something that added to his character? Also the original Char looking exactly like Casval. How fucking convenient.

I am honestly detached from the going-ons of the episodes now and lost track at this point of how many fleets of zeons have jobbed hard to white base. I am sure it will only get worse. How is white base and gundam always repaired in time for the next battle? Why do zeon mobile suits explode when the limbs or head is damaged? Who thought the transforming gundam plane was at all cool? Those aren't the right kinds of questions to ask.

Watched Spider-Man: No Way Home earlier and it ended up beating Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3 as the worst MCU movie. Such slow pacing and awful humor, unlike Deadpool and Wolverine this so did not deserve that level of reception. I was told it was never explained how Electro looked different than in AS2, but it turns out "oh he's the same, new suit has an Arc Reactor". The weird shit nobody talks about you end up being pleasantly surprised by. As for more /m/ stuff, 27 episodes into the following:

>Yamato Takeru
Garbage, legit contender for worst fantasy robot anime ever made even beating Red Ranger Isekai and the OVA version of Rayearth,
>LOGH
Huh, Sieg died. And not much else. *shrug* I wonder who called dibs on his red ship.

Zeta Gundam is basically a show where the main characters sorta accidentally stop the actual biggest threat in the entire UC setting which was Sirroco charismamogging everyone after achieving total military victory and it took Kamille, one of the best pilots in the entire series, getting brainfucked to stop him. What's funny is that Sirocco sorta just wanders into the plot as well. In Gcuck, the setting is much worse off with the Principality of Zeon being dominant but financially annihilated, and the Federation probably turning entirely into the Titans but not having the assets to really fight Zeon again. Sirocco showing up would dramatically change the entire setting as he himself was able to not only push MS development ahead dramatically(Gcuck MS are ALL at a much lower level vs their prime counterparts) as well as having very little political figures to oppose him charismamogging his way to the top of whatever faction he chooses. He is sorta a big deal

Orguss 02's connection to the first are fairly slight and even outright contradict it with one character. It's mostly about an early industrial world suddenly getting weird advanced robots from other dimensions. You could easily rework Orguss 02 to not include anything specific from SDC Orguss and it'd still work.

Yeah I agree, them not giving a shit about the war growing up as poor colony kids makes perfect sense. I struggle a bit with Fa being pretty incompetent and bright being more lax, but they did just watch all their friends die and can clearly tell this threat is much less serious. I also really like the emphasis on how shitty their equipment is. Like the Zeta is not at 100% most of the time, and the ship is beat to shit too.
>Neo Zeon being a bunch of clowns is what threw me for a loop though I find them, particularly Mashymre, endearing.
I can buy Haman sending less competant troops ahead to test the waters and sew dissension, but Im not much further than you so they might explain that some other way. He is great though, and you're just a few episodes away from meeting a contender for best girl in gundam.

Played my first SRW so watching series that got mixed in with that. Currently watching Majestic Prince which I had never heard of before.
Was completely blindsided by this episode. The death flags were obvious but SRW lulled me into false optimism as I forgot it has idealised versions of its represented series where no-one dies

SRW also had me thinking Randy was just anime Zapp Brannigan, very glad to see that was wrong, the whole Doberman team were MVPs considering they had been fighting in those prototype units long before the rabbits came onto the scene and never got credit, even getting overlooked during the Ceres after-action report. Only 5 units were able to fight on equal terms, my ass!

I had watched the show before playing SRW 30 and I could barely believe they made him a unit, SRW is notorious for cutting out characters like Randy
I was beyond hype when he got in and absolutely made him one of my top aces. It was good they made the other two Dobermans attack only too, otherwise I doubt the Randy's would have had as much oomph to it. In both the show and the game you can see the Rhinos clearly don't have as impressive abilities as the ASHMBs

Yuu's been fine, he has reasons to be upset at his parents and Orphan but also not necessarily trust Grand Doga or whatever the good guys are. Kanan's alright and Jonathan is too in small doses, Quincy hates fun and has tremendous issues at the cost of being pretty. It just feels like everyone has their own baggage that they - and we the audience - will have to deal with at some point. It was fine anticipating that in Evangelion (legitimately a good show as it turns out, nothing wrong with the original series and movie) but it's somehow tiring here. It might not even be the show's fault in all honesty.
Hime's been harmlessly fine, but I'm always really looking forward to seeing picrel. She seems like the sort to barge in your room or kidnap you so she can do experiments for fun.

I'm at the Dunbine episode Hyper Jerid and I just love how the most powerful Aura Battler grew giant and warped people's souls since she was an actress it fit perfectly with her ego. And to the point she made people think she was a reincarnation of Joan of Arc. I thought her profession and origin (Irish with who moved to France to become an actress and was looked down on for being Irish I think?) was just a random detai) and didnt think they were going to actually do something with it. I also didnt expect Hyper to happen with her since I've only ever seen it in other shoss which was last last boss shit. I just wish we saw more of her before this episode.

I haven't been posting here regularly but I've been enjoying the upper earth last arc a lot so far. Highlights were the Hawain episode when Show and Marvel meet up together, and Elle dealing with the death of that general.

Also for anyone watching Brain Powerd holy shit I can see so much of what became Brain Powerd in Dunbine. Tomino actually said in an interview that he could finally do what he wanted in Brain Powerd that he always wanted to do in Dunbine. (I never saved it I'd have to try to find it again if anyone cares.) Jeril Brainwashing people, Aura Power and emotions effecting the machines, machines going from biological materials to organic with mechanical materials. Even stuff like the Vital Network warping people around and barriers. Yuu's mom shooting him after completely rejecting him. Orphan being underwater like Byston Well. (Underwater is basically like a metaphor for the womb) I also love the water symbolism because it was used a lot with Lalah in MSG.

It was more to say that there was more to his character than SRW made it seem
SRW Randy: Horny 24/7 holds regular porn watch parties every chance he gets, gives bad love advice and openly flirts with his female superior officer on open comms and gets off on being reprimanded. Bit of a dummy on the battlefield too leading to more examples of why his team gets the nickname Bummer's

MJP Randy:
Fairly respected team leader, always giving advice the best he can to his team members and the rabbits. The scene with Asagi in his room and trying to answer his 'how to be a real hero' question was good.
He didn't know the right answer, but instead gave advice on what he DID know, what makes a good team leader.
He does admittedly collect and shares porn tapes with guys he considers friends and in one of all those all-guys moments does admit to fantasize being stepped on by Suzukaze or that other female officer but this was in private, not in the middle of a battle on comms.

Well with Ideon everything feels more natural. People are exploding because of the tense situation rather than personal hangups. It's not some weird introspective drama so much as it is the logical conclusion of extreme paranoia and mistrust between two groups
Brain Powerd does end happily though, IIRC only one character actually dies, and the ending has some very beautiful imagery. It's ultimately a show about families attempting to reconcile (which even plays into what's going on with the Brains themselves), so of course they have to establish the resentment first

>>23461655

Yes, this character in particular abandoned the team at a crucial moment to run off with some random guy and then had the gall to slink back when it didn't work out with him. I think I must be insane too because Tomino doesnt feel insane to me. His characters are just realistic in a way you don't normally see in fiction period. Not even regular TV. It's hard to explain. But if it clicks with you you'll get it. I went from disliking most of Tomino outside MSG and Turn A despite trying his shows a lot to loving him with Brain Powerd last year. I'm currently going back and watching stuff I dropped or didnt like and I love them too. Actually maybe I did go insane. This is what I loved about Brain Powerd. The Orphan stuff seems so bizarre and incomprehensible but it's just going through what everyone else in the series is going through except it's a fucking alien biomech. I think the characters and Orphan feed off each others emotions like the Brains so they're all in one giant feedback loop. Especially the more crazy characters who lived in Orphan. And that's why they could turn it around in the end because it is possible to break out if cycles. Like parental neglect and abuse, alcoholism and depression.

You need a lot of intuition to get Tomino animes I think.

Also I have a conspiracy theory that Turn A having a womb like cockpit was not a misunderstanding from Syd Mead cause all the Brains cockpits are called Uteruses in Nagano's concept art and are womb like anyways. Then Turn A has a womb cockpit too? I dont buy it.

The captain was a bit fucking annoying but it's also completely understandable for a woman or even general human being to have a breakdown on being confronted with being a sub-par parent to a now-terrorist child who hates you, so yeah her response was actually pretty realistic. With how Gcucks flopped on understanding Gundam, I'm more sympathetic and open to hearing out Tomino, maybe even give Dunbine a try sometime. Not the easiest thing to get into when SRW already told you about its ending.

I don't think Tomino characters are realistic at all, his dialogue always feels very stilted, as if every single line is a non-sequitur unless the characters are having a shouting match. The characters don't have a filter and they constantly talk past each other, as if everyone is too autistic to listen to anyone else and is just waiting for a lull so they can say whatever random thing is on their minds

Earlier I finished a short series called Masamune Datecline, it started off fine but the animation just kept taking a nose dive, the pacing got slow, and it didn't have an ending so pretty okay all things considered. The sad part is this is the final anime series made by Gainax, the guys that made a bunch of me ha classics and they went out with this.

Also I just finished Zegapain Adaption after putting it off for too long and to hype up for Zegapain Statement. I will give the people involved credit, Zegapain has one of the extremely few settings in fiction where a compilation movie as a prequel to a main story would make any sense. That said while it was mostly good the first half had slow pacing and until the final fight there was barely any action. If you didn't already see the main series it would be hard to tell what the hell was going on so by prequel standards it's not a solid starting point.
