It's a kitbash but most of it doesn't appear that way. Fairly certain they made a new helmet and the chest/shoulders had enough changes where if they are reused it doesn't leap out at you. I really wish people would give that criticism a rest. Zeztz is such a great blend of new design aesthetics that it still feels new compared to the other recent homages. You wouldn't even notice the inspiration as much with a different color scheme.

You realize that not all people share the same opinion and that it's a valid criticism right?
The suit is really good looking even if it kind of feels like another toku doing a Kamen Rider homage, as always Plex really knows how to make suits look good due to their creativity. But you also have to understand that it being inspired by Ichigo feels derivative since this is the third Hopper Main Rider in Reiwa and in the middle of that we've gotten even more hopper riders, if Zeztz hadn't released so close to Shin and Zero-One it probably wouldn't have been that much of an issue.

Honestly I saw more praise for Zero-One's base form as time went by, compared to the initial reactions. Maybe many of the praises come from people who had Zero-One as their first show and look back on it fondly, idk.

Really? I remember most people liking Zero-One's design from the get-go, the biggest common complain I saw at the time was how it felt like the suit didn't fit the suit actor.
A better example I think would Gavv, when it was first revealed not that many people like it since it just looked like a purple Zero-One with Build's belt, with a lot of people complaining about how the snack motif wasn't noticeable and how it was one of the most generic designs for a protagonist that we had gotten. But when the show started people turned around on it because of the play the suit did with its texture and modularity, which is more noticeable in action.

Technically any Rider that's a biological transformation is that, but they're "cleaned up" to look more heroic (read: marketable) for the audience. Look at the Agito Riders aside from G3. All of them physically transform into their Rider forms. They're not wearing suits in-canon. Same with Hibiki's Oni and the Riders from W.
