In terms of powerset, personality, all that, he's actually a pretty solid villain. He's threatening, lives up to his threats, and demonstrates his influence in more ways than just beating up Kamen Riders. The issue is they Evolt-ified him a bit too much by giving him a few very unnecessary keikaku dooris (Why give him a secret extra contingency plan to actually replace all the bombs in his fake Gochizo with a bomb in Nyelv's detonator? Why not just have him his his already demonstrably powerful abilities to knock it out of Nyelv's hand and kill him directly, it has the same outcome without being contrived PLUS Bocca has something he can threaten Shouma with) and trying to make him seem infallible besides his morality. I'm not really upset about his presence and I don't think he wasted screen-time much, but they definitely used his presence weird in a few places.

The cameras used are different giving them different atmospheres.
2020s' season emphasize toy shilling far more due to the timeslot change and Kamen Rider starting in September now. This results in the pacing of modern seasons feeling faster, at times rushed or in some of the forms feeling forced although I guess Inoue seasons also had the issue of forms feeling forced.
Kuuga had more creative freedom and devtime than any other Kamen Rider season due to its circumstances.
2020s' have better battle choreography due to actually storyboarding fights.
2020s' have a higher producer variety, but I feel these new staffers have more difficulty adapting to impromptu changes. While I feel that this is really dependent in to writer, like Takahashi for example is especially bad at adapting most of the time, I also feel that the new toy schedules and the incompetency of some modern producers are part of the reason for this.
Although Hibiki is the season with the most production issues, and just about every Kamen Rider regardless of the era has had to do changes to their plans mid-production, I feel like 2020s are even more subjectable to these midpoint changes of plans, but at the same I feel it's partly due to bad luck since a lot of the reasons for this feel situational.

I'm in the middle of Agito right now and while it does have its comedic moments, I'd say it typically does a good job of knowing when to inject them for levity/relieving tension and when to get serious. You never see slapstick or quips during fight scenes, for example. A lot of the comedy comes from Shouichi himself being an airhead, which disappears when it's Agito time.

Gotchard is the only other Reiwa season I've seen but I feel like the difference between AmazingGummy and Gotchard's final extra from are fucking night and day. I still kind of dislike the whole final episode(s) bonus form, but I think it worked really well here. The buildup to it being actually fucking cool probably helped a lot. Also the suit not just being a new undersuit, it's still a massive kitbash but it's way cooler than just changing the undersuit.

Well, the official sources and the guys who made the show don't attribute it to the rocks, so the rocks had nothing to do with it. His blood is linked to the red color though, but they never say he has to eat blood to achieve the form.

Jun Watanabe is a fantastic action director not that far behind Fujita, only times I found his action to be lacking were Revice's second half and King-Ohger's on-ground fights. But otherwise Zero-One, Saber, early Revice, King-Ohger's mecha fights and Boonboomger have great action direction, and judging by Zeztz's trailers it doesn't seem like the show will rely that much on CGI as we initially expected so I wouldn't be too worried unless the producers decide on something really stupid that ends up dragging the action or Kami requests to overuse slow-mo.

I doubt they had any big plans like that. The issue with Onodera is that you can feel most writers were awkward with his presence, especially his role as "Kuuga". Sho Aikawa only had him transforming ONCE after the initial Kuuga arc while he was the main writer. Inoue and whoever wrote the Kabuto arc didn't write him as a Rider at all.

Kobayashi and Yonemura actually let him transform, but at the same time also never really gave him focus. Even Rising Ultimate in the movie had nothing to do with him and the entire scene is about Tsukasa interacting with his sister.

He was a result of Shirakura pushing the idea of "reimaginations" of past Riders with new actors, but it's clear none of the actual staff were comfortable with that at the time.

What. Skyrider had the suit-only team ups, but it also had actual team ups with Rider 2, V3, Riderman, X and Stronger's actors. Rider 2's and Stronger's actors also return multiple times.

At least it allows them to actually use the past Riders as recurring characters when they wanted rather than making them one offs or having to make the whole schedule spin around actor availability. Skyrider would have been objectively worse if you had the power up arc without any past Riders or just Rider 2 and Stronger in the final battle.

The show spends the last 20 episodes hoping you've completely forgotten about the whole "Crisis resistance" subplot. I don't get why they even introduced this "only one planet can live!" plot though, rather than just having Black RX kill Emperor Crisis and save the world like they were setting up in the beginning. SNES is harder and requires more thought, especially when the Shocker Riders appear towards the end of the game, but it's more basic I'd say.
Shin is easier and feels more like a flash game at times but if you're on Master difficulty the bosses are a test of patience and dodge timing because a single hit is like 40-70% of your health depending on the attack, they have super armor which takes a decent amount of time to chip down even with burger drops and upgrades, and they have mooks interrupting you. Ichimonji and Rider 0 have fake out attacks. It also gets easier the more upgrades you get on both your character and on the Cyclone since a maxed out Cyclone can start you in area 1 with four buffs, a bunch of sodas, and buffs to your special attack.

I played through the JP version when it came out but got a Switch 2 and finally got off my butt to play the English version with the DLC I bought ages ago. Ultraman is pretty lame, Unit-01 is a nice middleground, and Godzilla is just great. If you get it now you have to pirate the DLC, it got delisted.
