In Revice no one from the cast both in the hero side and villain side are remotely likeable aside from kind of Genta, Giff's plan of an incest farm is stupid and he basically lost anything of what made him interesting after he stopped being a statue, Daiji's descent into following Akaishi feels forced, Sakura gets an upgrade without explanation, her arc gets resolve off-screen and action direction overall is also really bad, which is weird because it was really great on the first half. Ultimately the only redeeming quality of the final arc are the DeStream debut and the final episode.
Geats has to rush Neon's and Keiwa's arcs due to the rewrites, Suel is the worst antagonist in the franchise because of he bland/generic he is and Buffa winning against Beroba feels forced due to the rewrites since she transform into a Kamen Rider for no reason. It's not a bad final arc because even if Keiwa being retarded for joining the villains is a shit concept, everything else of his and Neon's arcs do make some sense because they were properly setup, also the action is good and the resolution of the story is fine.
Houtaro's writing barely improved and is generally kind of bad in the final arc, specially in the final episode. Rinne's bad acting makes her arc mostly unenjoyable despite the good writing, Lachesis' death whole not bad it still feels kind of forced. The final arc isn't bad overall because Gigist and Geryon are fun villains, and you still get good action and cool moments for Spanner, Artropos, Sabimaru and Kajiki.
But Gavv is generally better even if the villains aren't anything special because the core trio is well-written, the emotional moments still hit, the action is great and the villains aren't even bad or bland, it's just that they did nothing with them for a long while which is still bad and Nyelv's death is anticlimactic but certainly doesn't ruin the final arc. The show has done a good job at making the brainwashing feel menacing.

I'm glad that Kamen Rider doesn't air in the west for kids and that it will seemingly only air for adults in the west because otherwise the retarded kids from overseas would eat dirt and detergent.

If they are shafting Hanto so hard, he'd better be doing something important in the last episode.

We had all of that time, why the fuck did we waste so much of it dillydallying around? God dammit, I wanted this show to be one of the best in franchise and had high hopes. It has some of my favorite action, one of my favorite secondaries and some creative designs but will ultimately not equate to some of the classics I was hoping it could stand tall next to. Bitter gavv clone shoma bullshit should have ended in 4 episodes max, suga should have interfered with the plot longer and bocca should’ve been dealt with a few episodes ago. The pacing of this whole show is way out of wack. It genuinely peaked with Shona/Hanto misunderstanding kino, the first ~20 episodes or so had very compelling drama and great emotional acting.

I don't know about Precure since I haven't watched it, but her 3 Sentai seasons' final arcs definetly felt more climatic than Gavv's. That said LuPat's final arc was worse because of how nonsensical the plot was and Zenkaiger's was worse because the Kikanoids felt like sidekicks and the final stretch was kind of unplanned.
Zyuohger is similar to Gavv in the sense that the main focus is the main protagonist's family drama over developing the main villains or giving the other heroes significant wins, but even then Zyuohger was better because it gave Kusaka's actor's character something to do and the villains still did much more than Gavv's. Like Nyelve's equivalent in that show, Kubar who also tried to betray the antagonists had much more of a proper arc prior the final stretch for example. But kinda similar to Gavv the show had 2 villains left in the final episode so one of them have to die extremely anti-climatically, only that it's worse in Gavv because we have 3. I guess one thing Gavv has over her Sentai final arcs is that we actually know stuff about the main antagonist by this point, in her previous Sentai the main antagonists just get an info-dump in the last episode explaining their backstory, but I guess you can argue Gavv is worse regardless because Bocca didn't get a backstory despite being a secondary antagonist.

Unrelated to all the Gavv finale discussion, but I finally ended Kuuga today. Given I've been into Rider for about four years by now, I don't even know why it took me until last month to finally give it a try, but man, what an absolute masterpiece of a show. It really brought an smile to my face until the end.

Super-1's staff was basically like a lot of modern creators that dislike their own audience.

They didn't like Skyrider's success being based on past Rider team ups, and wanted to prove they could make a standalone Rider work again.
Ended up taking Rider down for several years just to keep that mission statement.

Even the 1st half of Super-1 ends up fairly bland overall, since they're just trying to do Rider "right" rather than having any real inspiration. But the 2nd half doesn't even have that, with them attempting to focus on even younger children than usual as the target audience. It has a *lot* of concepts in it that it seems to have difficulty juggling, and a lot of the best episodes were the ones that kind of eschewed the main series schticks and just did more straight-laced homages to previous series (I think these were written by other writers as well - namely the Gaoranger two-parter and LuPat two-parter).

She seems to not be sure if she's trying to mostly write a goofball comedy or not, which, y'know, her father's daughter and all. I would be interested in seeing her be lead writer on something more streamlined and traditional perhaps. It's really hard to get a bead with how Gozyuger is set up.

And from what I've read at Baidu, it's not surprising since there's apparently constant discussions and fights over which is the best Reiwa show over there like in this place, and the fans of the other Reiwa shows apparently don't like it when some Saber fans act smug or make memes about it being at the top.

I re-watched and I still liked it, the cast is fun and the story is good, it's definitely more consistent than Zero-One and Geats which were both screwed by production issues. Poppy is a really useful and likeable female lead. Even with his problems, Hiro managed to do some cool shit like his Level 50 debut and isn't an unlikeable character, just kind of bland. Even with his backstory being relegated to sidecontent, Taiga still had a good proper arc in the show with his whole deal with Lovelica and Graphite. Even with the revivals being cheap, Kuroto and Kiriya managed to be both useful and entertaining. The motw are decent and both Kuroto and Masamune are good villains, with Kuroto being one of the franchise's most memorable due to how good his actor's ad-lib was. Lastly it had far less last minute interventions than Zero-One and Geats so plot and character arcs progression feel more cohesive.
The biggest issues Ex-Aid has is how sidelined Hiro was, that Masamune isn't as good as Kuroto, Poppy isn't useful as a Rider and the revivals for Kuroto, Kiriya, Parad and Poppy makes a lot of scenes feel cheap. That's far less problems when compared to Zero-One and Geats.

I really wonder what led to the Bitter Gavv arc, I assume that the Stomachs didn't do anything for a while because the original plan was probably for most of them to die then get replaced by another villain mafia while Lakian was infiltrated agent for the government which wasn't supposed to be bad, but due to the lack of necessary budget not allowing them to fully explore the Granute world and the staff liking the Stomachs instead the lifetime of the Stomachs got extended without a solid plan, Lakian stopped being linked to a new organization and the new mafia became two government villains to compensate.
But that still doesn't quite explain why was the Bitter Gavv arc so weird, my only theory is that it was a last minute patch while Komura thought of how to rework the new villains, so the Stomachs got shafted since the staff didn't quite know what to do with them and then she decided to keep their arc the same only moving them to the end instead of the first half.

Basically everything that's an overreaction, the show is has a lot of flaws but that doesn't immediately invalidate the good things the show has done like the character interactions between the main trio, the entertaining motw, Sachika helping the characters get emotional development, the good execution of the themes of the show or the good action.
Stuff like Sachika not having many thematic parallels with the rest of the cast, Hanto not getting meaningful wins, the Stomach disappearing without explanation during the Bitter Gavv arc, the awkwardness of Suga suddenly achieving the ability to clone, Nyelv not being able to create clones despite having better technology, Liselle and Jeebh being left for the finale instead of properly building them up, the finale feeling low stakes because Lango already lost once and not much has happened to give him a power boost seemingly, the setup for obtaining Blizzard being poorly done, Nyelv's death being disappointing, Bocca's not doing much with his disguise, the episodes written by Kaneko and Mouri while not bad being generally weaker than the ones written by the other writers which is part of the reason Q2's start feels slow, Zomb and Bouche feeling like underutilized backdrops to the story and Liselle's fascination with suffering either going nowhere or being rushed are actual flaws.

More than likely the toy and concept were thought of first and Komura had to figure out how to incorporate it in. I'm sure it's not like a last minute thing or something she was forced to do or anything, but there definitely is some disconnect with how Bitter Gavv is used with don't random MotW getting to use a new form and Baki Baki Stick not appearing until much much later despite it being promoted as an alt form with it's toy coming out with the weapon. Then there was just that weird thing with Marble Breakcookie and Suga returning that was paraded as a big deal with a whole SH Figuarts made for the new form, but Suga was written as a lifeless puppet that wasn't even Suga anymore and only appeared for two episodes treated as an MotW. I think that was one of the oddest set of decisions that were made there.

I feel like with how easily the leakers knew, maybe they had it planned to be Jiip all along but I'm not sure why they pushed it back so much. Honestly, Jiip's development is pretty awful as well. Like they had kind of a golden ticket here with a mind broken twink version of Yaguruma and people were already anticipating and hyping up his return, but no he just stays pathetic accomplishing nothing and doesn't even get an outfit change for return as the President's daughter's husband and new Bitter Gavv. It is kinda funny seeing him be such a failson and it does work as a character trait for Jiip, but they legitimately had no reason to make him Bitter Gavv and waste a potentially good rival for Gavv. I mean dude got his ass beat whether he was in his Granute form or Bitter Gavv. It's just like Dread with how the initial appearance is great, but then they have more and more users that make it look like weak fodder. I love Gavv too and I don't even have a problem with the Stomachs, but the Biter Gavv stuff sucked and the only good parts had to do with Suga who also fucking died after using his Rider form twice.

I really do hope that Zeztz does a better job handling Dark Zeztz by making it an actual interesting character instead of going the Dread and Bitter Gavv route, such a waste of really great Rider designs and concepts.

Jiip's revenge plot should've been more upfront than in the shadows. Actually show him bonding with Lizel and gaining her hand in marriage throughout as a C Plot and then have it become an A Plot at the second half if it was actually planned to become this way, which it wasn't. It's so obvious despite the early development Gavv has, Takebe still is doing her old method of "Let's have a general idea for the first half and then actually plan out the second half once we get audience feedback" It sucked during Geats and it sucks more balls in Gavv. For all the shit Gotchard got, MinatoP having the overall story beats planned out so Uchida and Hasegawa can follow them helped with the story development, even if it was too streamlined than it should. But because of that, Akiko Inoue could be dropped in easily midway with no obvious bumps in the change of writing.

I highly suspect this is the reason why MinatoP is helping with handling Zeztz cause his ability to better outline the finer details works absolutely great with the early development period, plus Takahashi is better suited when he works with someone who has all the things laid out for him as seen when he works with Omori.

Legitimately asking, what do you mean by this? The main plot of Gotchard which is everything with Geryon and the 3 Kings wasn't planned by Minato, it was proposed by Hasegawa and then elaborated upon by Uchida, it's why there's no foreshadowing for it in Q1. Akiko managed to be easily integrated into the show because the way Gotchard's cases of the week work, which was Uchida's idea and because she was meant to focus on Rinne, which was a chare properly set-up by Minato whish why there is actual set-up for her relationship with Artropos from the very beginning.
Point is Minato didn't have a proper outline for Gotchard's story, if he did stuff like Houtaro's dad and Clotho's character arc wouldn't have turned out the way it did. I assume Minato got assigned to Zeztz because he's the only one out of the four producers with experience on toy promotion, Yanaka did work on mainline Kamen Rider as an assistant producer but that was a whole ago and unlike Kuji he hadn't worked on Kodomo stuff since Build which is probably why they needed Minato's guidance in that regard.

His schizo revenge arc had great potential, but most of it was wasted and the character ended up largely aimless after making his big contribution of imploding the family. Making him Bitter Gavv could've been an easy slam dunk in terms of narrative, but they fumbled even that.

Not much of a character for most of the show, there was potential to give her constant focus with the whole Comel thing, but they decided to not tie her into that until her last 2 episodes. The whole angle about her really caring for her family was another example of too little too late.

Arguably the best Stomach after it became clear that Jiip's arc was going nowhere, but just like Glotta they waited way too long to flesh his character out in any significant way. Despite his position as lead villain scientist, it felt like he didn't accomplish much in the end, every scheme he worked on got foiled way too quickly and without much issue. His death was almost comical.

Not much of a character in her own right, her only purpose was to drive Jiip insane with her death, which she definitely accomplished. Too bad they dropped the ball with Jiip's character arc.

They really didn't take advantage of an idea as juicy as the villains being the protag's family, all of them rarely got to interact with Shouma, including the one that's supposed to have a massive hateboner for him. On paper both parties share a deep connection, but in execution they feel largely disconnected and like they couldn't care less about each other (except for Jiip's one-sided vendetta against Shouma, but like I said, they barely interacted with each other throughout the show).

Anon, the Sisters namedropped Glion as early as episode 5. By the time Dread debuted they were already hinting there was a villain hidden in the Academy since the heroes began questioning how the Sisters even had Blank Cards to capture Chemies with when they were supposed to be Academy assets. The unified Dark King and its sealing was also depicted in Rinne's Daybreak Alchemist storybook that was there since the early episodes.

Houtaro's dad was a thing that Minato pondered what to do about, but he decided to not make him part of the main plot. It's not really a dropped plot point because it never got to the point where they made it important in the first place, he simply remained as an inspiration for Houtaro's outgoing demeanor and an explanation for why he is the way he is, even towards the end.

I legit forgot Geryon was brought up in Q1, I thought the sisters had only said that they would "bring back their creator" but didn't elaborate. Either way the point still stands that Minato didn't come up with any of it, only Rinne's arc. Even the alchemy school setting wasn't Minato's idea but Shirakura's and Tsukada's.

Which simply isn't true and then shifted my answer despite never implying that Minato handles everything. Under normal circumstances a producer comes up with the basic setting with executives overseeing for quality control, then proceeds to hire the main staffers and serve as an editor. Minato didn't do the bare minimum of coming up with a basic idea, the executives did that for him because he couldn't, because those ideas weren't his both the school aspect and the alchemy aspect were half-assed, he had to get assigned a second head writer because the story setup was too basic and lastly the vice producer had to partially take over the show and hire a third head writer to handle Rinne and core story beats like Hopper1's death which isn't normal. On other interviews Minato talks about surpressing the ideas of the writers, which is normal for a producer to do, but in his case it limited the setting since he didn't allow Uchida to make the most of the school setting or Hasegawa of the alchemy setting. What's worse is that according to Minato he prefers slow-burn dark drama shows like early Heisei so Gotchard isn't even the kind of show he wants to make, he probably tried his best to be as safe as possible because it was his first season and it backfired massively.
I just don't get why you think Minato was hired to help with "finer details of the story" rather than setting like normal vice producers or handling toys due to Yanaka.

Because Yanaka is literally credited as chief producer while Minato, Takasaki and Ahagon are credited as vice producers. Kazuya Kamihoriuchi directed episodes for Ex-Aid and Build which Yanaka worked on as an assistant producer so that's probably where he met him.
