I like that in one of the first fights, this other Tekkaman knocks Blade down from space to Earth, and the very first thing Blade does when he recovers is go up there and blast the dude in the face with a Voltekka. He didn't wait, there was no screaming and the dude wasn't expecting him so soon.

Definately, it has better music, better sound effects and maggie (rebin) isn't a trannie. The voice acting is also incredibly good, for a dub.
It does have some wierd mess ups here and there, but the delivery makes a lot of the lines more memorable in the dub, especially those of Darkon (Omega). Shara/Rapier's death is also much better because she doesn't repeat the same fucking line 4 times.

Saban writers seemed to like doing that with Tatsunoko heroines they felt were comparatively wimpy, even if sometimes it felt like a shallow bandaid. Kelly from Eagle Riders was basically made more snarky and abrasive compared to Jun the Swan, but you had a bunch of lady Gatchaman fans applauding that and claiming she was now a strong female character just by dialogue.

Actually yes. I actually think the 90s dub improves the pacing a lot.

I also think the music and sound effects of the American dub sounds better. The sound engineers said they felt some the battle scenes sounded soft. So they added more hard hitting metal sound effects and battle noises.

When I went back to watch the Japanese audio, I suddenly realized how quiet the original audio was. The American version is better imo for the battle scenes.

Thanks to Amiami's pre-owned items... I finally got to finish my Tekkaman Blade armor plus figure collection with the Sol Tekkaman Unit 1 Kai.

I love how the series hasn't been relevant in a long time... But still receives new figures and kits from multiple sources. It's something I wish could happen to Guyver, but Max Factory keeps that license held pretty close to their chest.

What if they did a 24 episode Remake instead where all the pointless fluff was cut out, and they turned it into a very fast paced season? You could easily cut out 10 to 15 episodes from the original Tekkaman Blade anime, and then speed up the plot of other scenes. Make the story very hi-octane and fast. It's likely mostly because of Max Watanabe of Max Factory himself. He's giving the franchise the premium items because of his longtime friendship. Thus they are getting premium Figma figures that are taking forever to release.

It's one of the reasons why the 1/6th scale Guyver 1 figure was so expensive and took so long. It was a personal project for him.

I would really have liked for Evil to be beaten a bit earlier and sidelined to let Lance do some villain work. He was the most heavily mutated of all their designs. That might be the result of the standard method a show gets watched. IIn the 80s/90s, a ~50 episode series would be a daily/weekly ritual completed by watching a 30 minute episode over 10 weeks or a year. With this filler, fluff and recap episodes are not really disruptive unless DBZ style multi-week filler happens.

Now binge watching a 13 episode series is basically watching a 4.5 hour movie with breaks every 20 minutes. Binge watching a 50 episode series then takes ~16.5 hours and makes comprehending that multiple hours could have been cut out of the run time by removing the fluff, filler and recaps.

I hate this too, and this is coming from someone who loves this series. The worst thing about that is when blade shoots down a Fermion bomb and it ends up destroying the HQ of earth defense forces, greatly crippling earth's capability to resist Radam forces.
