30MM has polycaps as balljoints, something this material was never meant to be. And the horse is full of this. And should know that MG ultilizes polycaps in a very different way, each polycaps have tight security to keep them from getting stretched out. Meanwhile 30MM's engineering is literall dogshit, there is nothing there to keep the polycaps tight and the balljoints get damaged the momment you install them to the sockets.

I built the acerby last week and didn't have any issues with the polycaps or sockets. The main issue was the body didn't use a polycap at all so the ball comes out of the socket easily and due to the limbs/joints being so small, it can be awkward to manipulate them into poses. You have to be very gentle otherwise the pegs can very easily snap.

FM Aerial is 1/100 while RG 2.0 is 1/144 unless you buy the upscale bootleg. Both kits are fine, but not very sastifying.

Leave a bit of the nub and then use a glass file. If you've scratched the part then you'll need to use polishing compound depending on how bad it is.

FA ZZ literally, canonically has just has the EZZ under all the addon armor. The entire point of FA ZZ even existing as a kit is that FAZZ has a slightly modified ZZ under the FA equipment (which is identical) instead of the EZZ. Why the fuck wouldn't you be able to make the EZZ with it?

When you guys paint a kit in canon colors but most of the kit already in the correct color, what do you do? Random example: Say you wanted to paint your MG Nu gundam in first lot colors, most of of the kit is already white. So do you paint it white or leave the plastic with just a topcoat?

You never do a partial paint job. Not only is it lazy, but it's obvious as fuck that you only painted part of it. Unpainted bare plastic looks completely different from a painted surface, even under topcoat, and as a result the entire kit looks lazy and ugly.

Plastic colors never look like paint, so often to an intermediate builder, a half painted half plastic kit stands out pretty hard because painted plastic looks very different to the eye than bare plastic. Well you could shade it, weather it, add "artificial" color separation (like RGs have) or do what I do when I'm feeling lazy and just paint it a different tone. For example, I almost always repaint pure white in an off-white with a touch of green, blue or gray. It just looks better in most circumstances.

The main thing is to look up real world examples of the effect you're trying to do. It's generally better to go lighter than heavier, just because it's easier to add more later on than it would be to remove. Do you have an idea of what kind of look you want?

Working on that orbiter nightfall kit now, there was an ugly seam down the front of the foot so I split it, and half I seam welded and the other half I chiseled into a big panel line. It's not the cleanest but you won't be able to tell after paint.

I'm still convinced gothicmades are some elaborate project by nagano to test what kind of garbage he can produce and still get praise for because his name is attached to it

Light wear can be done with some careful sponge chipping.

Depending on the exact effect you want, you can use different tones of your base colors for general peeling and fading, a dark brown then metallics over it for more of a rust vibe, or small touches of german grey and drybrushing metallics for small bits of chipping and paint damage.

Heat discoloration can be done with washes I believe, there's plenty of Warhammer tutorials for that you could probably apply to gunpla.

I'm planning out a custom zaku. Any thoughts on the color scheme? I'm thinking the frame and verniers will be a cool gold, and then centering the other parts around olive. I'm also doing two spiked shoulders, some netting and a flight unit.
