It's because initially they basically wanted to treat the Sirbine like the SRW original/unit-only based on non-animated material upgrades... which is kind of weird since I think it's the only unit from an actual anime they treated like that outside of some oddities in the very early games. Since T, the Bellvine is taking the role of unique game-exclusive upgrade, which makes much more sense since it only existed in an artbooks.

Not the only time Shion was included before T was in Compact 3, which had an odd line up overall.

I think T and Y are finally them treating the OVA as a pretty standard series though. Well, kind of. T basically treated the OVA as a new series, with the tv characters as support for its plot, but then Show was the one getting a super upgrade above any other aura battlers, after already having an unique high ranked finisher.

Y sidelines the OVA more and gives more focus to the tv cast, although this time Shion gets the Bellvine, but then its finisher not locked to him and it now has been downgraded to match the Bilbine's anyway.

Y in general gives less focus to the MJP crew, which makes sense since the content is mostly reused. The Raijin-Oh, Sirbine and the Manon secrets are the easiest to fuck up. Raijin and Manon because all parts are mandatory and Sirbine because it has a lot of dumb factors added to it that can fuck you over. like if you don't kill Drake on stage 10 then you have to do the Dunbine route split during stage 18 otherwise killing Drake becomes mandatory and if you go the other route you basically lock yourself out of the NBW stuff. Killing Drake is also annoying and most people skip it, I did and it took forever because he has way too much health

Actor likeness is a real issue in Japan. Japanese talent agencies like Johnny are infamous. But thats just one half of the Sentai problem because of how bad the Power Rangers situation is. Toei is showing great interest in growing their Tokusatsu brands outside of Japan but can't do so for Super Sentai because of how bad on their end the old contract was. And while Hasbro isn't really doing anything with the license now because of how badly they've handled it, that doesn't keep them from interfering to either hold back a rival or demand more than reasonable amounts to allow it, etc.

Belief adds +10 Melee/Range/Crit Rate
1.1x from Firefly Gem, 1.15x from Danmaku Power, 1.2x from Critical, 1.03x at 4 Tiles and 1.05x from Scan. Marisa's Route has her dealing slightly more damage due to friendship bonuses.

For support attackers, the strongest choices are Reimu (1.32x crit on Youkai) and Alice (1.3x crit), their finishers also have comparable base power.
I dont have Yuuka's N+ stats but I was able to do about ~11k on NG H with Reimu lead/Marisa support. So she's kind of rough to beat but not impossible.

He's not hard, he's just annoyingly tough for this point of the game.

Its a silly mechanic that exists purely because the developer felt cheeky and decided to offer a damage bonus if a player opted to do something that defies common sense (i.e support defend an attack that actually kills the support defender). On top of that, there's a scaling damage bonus based on friendship level, so even if someone did find about the mechanic by accident, there's still a possibility that they could sack the wrong character and get an inferior result.
FMW has a lot of good things in it, but this isnt one of them.
