This pageant has two types of faggots who both contribute to weak mares beating obviously stronger competitors.
First are the strategic voters who pick the weaker mare so their wife gets an easier matchup later.
And second are the people who see a weak mare up against a strong one and think, “this is going to be a blowout, I’ll vote for the weaker mare so she doesn’t feel bad about losing too badly :(”

Both problems are largely solved by making a bracket with only the top 32 seeds.

"Underdog" is only exciting if they are an underdog relative to something else. Having two tournaments gets rid of that. For everyone who doesn't waifu either of the mares in a match (which is going to be the majority of voters in any given match), an upset has the tendency to be entertaining (because without at least some element of unpredictability the whole thing would be boring). Upsets are best generated by spite-votes or strategyfagging combined with randomized brackets. Spite-voting and strategyfagging, obviously, feed into eachother. If Roseluck/Minuette wins this year, is that really so bad? A few Rosefags/Toothpastebros will be extremely happy, the winning mare herself will presumably be happy, a bunch of us will get to have fun saying "haha ponkfags btfo", and there will be the general excitement of an unexpected underdog victory.

Only one mare can win. Getting invested in the narrative or whatever keeps the thing exciting after your top mares lose (which, obviously, the vast majority of them must). So, within the game, I hope the ponkfags lose because they beat my waifu, because it would be unexpected and funny, and because Minuette/Roseluck/Pear Butter are perfectly good mares whom I would be happy for. Outside the game, though, I'm not authentically mad at a ponkfag who only voted once but used that vote to strategyfag. It keeps the game exciting.

Pinkie Pie is my favorite M6. She's a pillar of her community, she cares for everyone and everyone in turn care for her even if she's eccentric and weird. She's childish and random but she's not immature, and people actually trust her. She everything I aspire to be.

I have a soft spot for gardening mares and Roseluck is my favorite. She has a cute design, Wuten's narration of Wild Rose made me have a soft spot for her. Her existence alone enhances Dr Whooves' character and her scene with the glue was very cute.

I think Minuette literally embodies the concept of snowpity. Her personality in Amending Fences is my go-to example of what makes mares special. The essence of a mare, which makes them attractive and heartwarming all the same. Not to mention that the Colgate memes back then were fun and Batsy's animation this year made people check out Little Shop of Horrors which is one of my favorite musicals, so I'm thankful to her for that.

I acknowledge that the episode of AJ's parents is overrated and a generic Romeo and Juliet story, yet I still enjoyed it all the same. It deserves all the praise it got. I find Pear Butter's design to be extremely attractive, I like how they explained the Buttercup nickname and showed why she had flowers in her hair, and to this day the scene where her father abandons her makes me tear up. Though that's probably just me, as I relate to her and as a parent myself I'd hate the idea to leave my child alone.
