We are finally here at the end. After nine days and 256 initial entries to start, we are down to our final two. Two mares left who still have a shot to win the crown of princesshood that is Miss /mlp/ 2025

There was posting from Raribros back at the start about how they "wanted" her to lose because imagining her reaction was funny. I did kind of want Pinkie to at least beat her in best mane because her winning a town vote over Rarity for best mane, and her getting second place as a result could unironically be an entertaining episode of the show.

I ran it as a scenario in EquestrAI and was not disappointed by how entertaining and funny it was and how each character played into it in a very believable way.

And the argument leading up to that moment was started by Rarity throwing shade at AJ completely unprovoked. If we're going to say Rarity is justified in acting like a bitch due to an earlier offense, then AJ is also justified here.
At this point, you're just saying that Rarity is justified in instigating arguments for slights against her in previous arguments that were also started by her, and therefore AJ is the only one instigating arguments. Rarity gets payback on the dares in that very scene anyway, like I said before, so it still doesn't follow as an excuse for her starting shit in later scenes.

This is all just a temporary dark spot on the pageant. Next year will be what we make of it. With that said, does anyone want to get a little preliminary discussion going about the possible solutions in the questionnaire? There are a few I think are worth discussing, at least.

Anons could probably fill it out multiple times to get extra votes, but I think most faggots don’t consider cheating until shit gets serious. This could be a great way to prevent spur-of-the-moment rigging. More importantly, it’d help purge offboarder scum from our pageants, as long as the poll stays up long enough for most regulars to find it. We wouldn’t have to constantly deal with offboarders coming here begging for answers to the questions, and PageantAnon wouldn’t have to worry as much about changing the questions when faggots spoonfeed because their wife lost.

I’d definitely be in favor if PageantAnon can pull it off and figure out a way to prevent multi-voting. So either by using the PC IDs, the registered IDs, both, or something else.

I also think it’s time to either go back to a seeded 128 bracket or try out the two-tournament system. It’s not very exciting when both finalists had only one or two tough matchups each before reaching the finale.

I answered pretty extensively about all of this in the questionnaire. I think voter ID would be good if it was a way to stop multi-voting, but ultimately I think it should also be easy to obtain and you shouldn't be permanently locked out of it. People coming in and voting spur-of-the-moment because they found the tourney is part of the community magic, and, shit, I can't even say I mind offboarders coming around so long as they're enjoying themselves and not just trying to sabotage things. Granted I've never been one to have personal bogeymen.

So long as the changes keep the pageant fun I'm all for it. I can't help but feel like the bitter attitude some anons have was the more noticeable thing this year (the ones banting for fun aside, those guys are a blast). I think you should keep the pageant balanced on a fine line between fun and serious; too fun and pointless and it doesn't mean anything anymore, and too serious and it loses the magic and becomes tryhard and strict just for the sake of appeasing those who tend to be more pessimistic about their fellow anons. This pageant was really fun and I had a blast with it. I also think randomized brackets might damage the sort of natural story that comes about from a pony moving through things and facing opponents organically through votes rather than randomly.

The truth is that no solution is impervious to enough effort and autism. And going beyond google accounts is breaking with the anonymous, 4chan nature of it all. It's more the culture and spirit of the board that determines it. If this were back in 2012 or 2013, it'd go like the old best pony Hub poll. I don't think it's THAT bad but I have noticed a trend all over 4chan (/mlp/ included) where people are just way more aggressive and vitriolic and impatient. I still love this board and think it's the highest quality one on the website, and people absolutely ripped into each other and acted mean back in the day, but I do think that people here might be slightly more combative and untrusting. Whatever it is, it's hard to judge because I'm comparing it to 2012 /mlp/ which was ages ago, and any difference I'm noticing doesn't feel super extreme to me.

All that being said I do understand where you're coming from, though; this event had a lot of people being really pissed about groups of people that we didn't even really have concrete proof of existing other than just theorycrafting, and then getting mad at each other over it.

When I say that AJ starts it it does not justify Rarity's actions. In terms of who started what, Rarity was being way more aggressive than AJ was. Around, haha. I honestly kind of fell out of using this board for a good while, but I've always peeked in. I think I started visiting this board around 2011 or 2012; I know I got on the ride in between Season 1 and 2. This used to be my home back in 2012 or so and these are all from my Pinkie Pie folder, which has hundreds of images of Ponk in it all saved from around when I was most active. For the past year or two I've enjoyed checking in on /chag/ occasionally, mostly, but ever since the anni my love has been reawakened and I now once again feel warm and fuzzy looking at the funny cartoon horsies.

This has ultimately always been my home and I feel a special camaraderie with everyone here, so my return was inevitable. Oh my god I know right? Back in 2013 I remember tons of anons trying to make digital simulators of ponies and obviously the tech at the time being super limited, but we had so many little fan projects coming around that'd let you talk to the characters in a very limited capacity, or at least CYOA threads that let users do so. The fact we had so many anons hanging onto their dreams of going to Equestria to the point things like this are still being made is insane. Not to mention the PurpleSmart AI guys and their endgame of making "AI waifus"; some users here got touched by something beautiful and just simply never gave up, not even over a decade later. It's an actual testament to the power of love and the people behind these projects don't get nearly enough praise for the kind of humanity they represent.

Back on the VN though, yeah I've been visiting it over and over again and it's been so immersive and comfy. I often just use the new custom start feature to mess around and see what ponies do with certain scenarios, and they're pretty consistently always hilarious and many of them feel like a real episode of the show. I could gush about it all day though. I'm ultimately just so happy there's so much wonder and passion still being poured into ponies, it simply goes to show how much we were all touched by the wonder and magic of the show.
