Lease an EV or Buy a Used Car
>Traumatized from buying used cars that were lemons or failed within a few years.
>Decide to lease a car.
>Most Worry-free auto experience I ever had

I want to use the $7500 EV tax credit and get an EV from a dealer on the leasehackr.com forums

But I also know somebody that knows somebody that can get me a 2018 Benz SUV for $5000. Not sure the condition.

EV tax credit ends at the end of September.

Important to note:
I just got out of prison and my credit is shit
I qualify for a $20/month liability insurance program if I buy used
but, I don't know a single mechanic that I trust.

I don't have much money but I need a car but I'm not gonna risk it and buy some used piece of shit that will exploded in a year or 2.

Option 3: Stop being a wrenchlet and learn how to diagnose + fix any issues with your used car. No mechanical repair short of a total engine/transmission swap will cost you more than a few hundred bucks if you do it yourself, and mechanics aren't exactly the smartest guys around so you can easily do it yourself with the right tools and a manual

Fucking do not. The reason why that 2018 Benz is so cheap is that you're gonna spend double a year in insurance and repairs. Brands have realized that rich people don't give a fuck about repair costs, they just take it to the dealership, tell the department to fix it, and just give them the credit card right off the bat. So luxury brands are money pits now so they can suck as much as possible from some ignorant trust fund kiddie or trophy wife.

i dont have a garage to work on cars in, nor the space to store tools
ive done plenty of small fixes myself
but usually head gasket and engine issues are something i cant fix

not to mention i dont want a broken car i have to fix and constantly be bothered with pouring money into. See my original point.

took my 1996 camry to 2 different mechanics and they said it was good
still had problems with it
car wouldnt start
took it to 3 different mechanics who said 3 different things
magically car starts working again
eventually the pistons got fucked up and metal was flying around inside the engine

took a rav 4 to the dealer
seller was discouraging me saying that his brother is a mechanic and already looked at it
dealer said it was fucked

looked at a volvo
carfax was clean
guy had paperwork record of all the repairs
take it to a mechanic
head gasket was blown

was about to buy a 2018 chevy from a used car lot
took it to the chevy dealer
dealer said it was fucked

many stories like this
people are just looking for a sucker

99% of people selling used cars in my city are car-flippers or are trying to get rid of their problems. why should i trust the?

I've only seen like one legitimate case where a lease made more sense.
>us zog, frequently pcs or deploys overseas
>lease cheap for a year, then return car when the deployment orders arrive
