I'm literally the owner of that duke that the OP saved from last thread, I don't even know what the fuck your sad geriatric mind is rambling about at this point, but those filenames are saved that way because of the devices used will automatically save them like that. Meaning it could be several people with the same filename styling.

Honestly, some fresh fork oil, springs for your weight, and whatever other Race Tech goodies there are (like gold valve emulators), would completely change your ride. I bet the forums have an agreed upon formula and have a hand full of tuners they all send their forks out to. There is some magic that the tuners do beyond springs and valving.

Entertaining the front end swap partly came from how many cheap wrecked R6 front ends there are available for cheap but mostly because it seems like a much more interesting project to take on than swapping springs/ rebuilding forks lol

It's not that confusing, just think of it as a lever with a specific formula. It just sucks to spend money on a new master cylinder that's 1mm off of what you actually wanted in terms of force and lever feel. I have a 14 radial on a single 30/34mm diameter caliper and that's a one-finger lever or you're damn near flipping the bike over forwards.

some cruisers are actually more comfortable on long rides with higher bars (which is why boomers do it)

Even in a car she hates being outside on state highways and camping, just a huge homebody.

Don't have that feeling personally.
However if I do a load of super sketchy ultra squiding like lane splitting between two vehicles while leaning over and my tire being inches away from someone elses... sometimes my hands shake like crazy afterwards. I've caught my throttle going nuts thinking my bike was acting up only to realize my hand looks like it had parkinson's, no fear in my mind, but the adrenaline spiked like mad I guess.
Usually I calm myself down by telling myself I'm planning on dying, I visualize myself crashing into a barrier and screaming out in pain, and then my hands calm down.

'02 Bonneville, low miles, carbed, air cooled, wire spoke wheels, red/silver paint (my favourite). Changing the bars seems pretty involved and he's in a rural area, no shops. I don't really trust some random geezer to do it right before I take it on a road trip. Bars are as high as in that pic, not insane like some.

Advice needed here. I rode a 390 adventure for the past 4 years and before that an old 650 gs, mostly light offroad stuff, travels and the occasional commute. I hate the bike on the highway but love it anywhere else. For 3 years my dream bike has been a T7 but today I finally got a test ride on one (new one) and it was kindaโฆ underwhelming. Itโs got the ride height and ground clearance Iโm looking for but everything is so smooth and easy, almost boring. Am I just too attached to current bike or is that common? Or will the Tenere be just as fun after a few rides? Also considering the new 390 adventure r or maybe a bigger ktm adv

No and if you were riding then you'd know better.
Its status is thanks to being a upgrade to the preceding, glorious RD400 air cooled machines. It didn't "dominate the market" anywhere but its own class which was more than sufficient. TZ twins proved what worked then RD was suitably upgraded.
That dominance was in no way due to being a twin, but in every way due to fixing the legacy shit that hobbled air-cooled two-stroke street bikes including short top end life, trash dual shock suspension etc.
The utterly dominant Yamaha in road racing was the TZ 750 four cylinder which sadly didn't get built as a street bike except by individual owners. Had TZs made it to the street they'd have wiped the floor with their bloated four stroke competition there too.
Racing rules were altered to dispose of the TZ which was absurdly fucking stupid.
>>28607804
Racing doesn't matter on the street and caring about it unless you personally participate is retarded.

Inspect wiring harnesses and especially the white plastic connector blocks which tend to crumble, though you can buy replacements or just hard wire them since connectors exist for assembly line convenience.
Any which had their timing belt and water pump (best done together) is a plus.
Those mods appear decently done and make sense on any naked Wing.

F650ST (Strada)
(1993โ2000): A more road-biased version of the Funduro.
F650CS Scarver
(2001โ2005): A street-oriented model with unique styling, a belt drive, and a fixed storage compartment.
F650GS / F650GS Dakar
(1999โ2007): The updated and replaced single-cylinder model, with the Dakar version featuring a taller suspension and screen for off-road use.
F650 Parallel-Twin Model
F650GS: (2008): A new F650GS model with a parallel-twin engine (which was actually around 800cc), rather than the single-cylinder engine of previous models.
Note on G650GS
G650GS: (2009 onwards): The single-cylinder F650GS was effectively reintroduced as the G650GS in 2008, maintaining the single-cylinder configuration but with design and name changes.

Properly sized apes have a good grip angle and work fine. I taught MSF classes with 14"+2" risers and have run them since the 1980s. Wife installed 16"+2" risers on her '82 FXS. They're not an ergonomic problem. We chose them for comfort. (I would never buy ergonomic-related parts for appearance.)
Bar ends (any bar) are best trimmed to shoulder width but that's not urgent.
>>28608338
Riser clamps don't do a good job retaining apes but that's often gotten around by running the style with integral welded risers. Do note if his are merely clamped that they may rotate in the riser clamps which only hold by friction. (That's why I tack weld mine on the inboard bottom of the risers so they won't rotate except in a crash where I want them to.)
Best to leave as-is, return home leisurely after briefly practicing emergency stops and aggressive countersteering, then fit whatever you like.
Take your time then replace them with whatever steams your speedos. Goto Triumphrat and other Triumph forums for tech advice since details matter and in future always refer to your bike by year, make and model if you want others to understand what you mean. Uselessly abbreviated descriptions are an artifact of phone dependence and have no place in technical communication.
Since it's carbed cable replacement is easy and you can get all the specific details from experienced owners. Get a FACTORY service manual and build thyself a good tech library.
Cable vendors abound like Venhill, Flanders and Barnett who also sell parts (shortening long cables is easy and the screw-style aftermarket ends have another advantage in that they can be used to convert other cables on the road if needed. (Using bicycle derailleur cables is an ancient field fix often used to make custom cables.)

why the highway hate on the small singles? is it because of the high revs and maybe vibrations?
also what about a used gs since you already had the older single 650 maybe you can get a f800 used, my old man would take his everywhere and you get the sweet rotax if you actually get older ones and not the chinese new engine.
New ktm looks really cool but it's new bike money for another single so maybe you won't like it again on highways and you might drop it doing offroad.

They are bikes with different tradeoffs.
ADVs are generally taller, this alone makes them worse than scramblers in some circumstances for some riders.
ADVs are generally dorkier.
Some scramblers are just ADVs made into street bikes.

Depending on what point you're making with your bike.
Bike classifications, like game/movie/literature genres, are imprecise and subjective.
For me, scrambler = classic-looking bike + riding in dirt.
If you follow this formula, using a street frame as a basis is not a great idea. If you follow a different formula, it might not matter.
Can you scramble in dirt without worrying about ruining the value of that bike? Perhaps that's a scrambler then.

OK thats a fair enough statement, these 390's are a total chore on the straight highways unless there is a load of traffic to weave through and split for fun.
I mean you could just get the bigger version, like the 890 adv or something. That'll get you to 210kmh at least, which is a big more fun, although at that speed you are in felony range, without having power of a supersport to run away. Although you don't really need a whole lot of speed for that unless you are on a long highway in the middle of nowhere, which you would be if you are adving it up. So idk, adv isn't really my scene.

If your hands are around shoulder height you're good to go, that is optimal positioning. Apes don't inherently add difficulty to maneuvering the bike. If they are significantly higher than around shoulder height you should still be avle to safely ride it home as long as your ass is still in the seat. If you're standing on the pegs just to reach the grips get a trailer.

the majority of people do not know that stalling a vehicle is something that you can even do, they probably just thought you killed your engine or something

Does /dbt/ ever ride a bicycle. I didn't ride one for years but started riding mine again, makes my motorbaik feel way more fun because you don't take speed for granted anymore. 30 feels fast when you're used to 15 on a bicycle

Super cool anon, I think I'm either a NPC or an autist, I end up going to the same place every time when I don't have my mates riding with me.

Imagine simping for the drunk whores anyway when they can kill you. A real man would take their keys out from the ignition and had sex with all 4 of them later

10 years ago i sold my motorbike and then started working a bicycle delivery job for 10 years, i recently retired from bicycle delivery and promoted to motorcycle delivery this year after not riding motorbike for 10 years. I love both but both are very different, on motorbike i need to follow road rules for my own safety, on bicycle i need to break road rules for my own safety. The bicycle is still really nice because i live in walkable city where cycling is sometimes more convenient than being stuck in traffic and we have MUPs and nice bike trails that go along and over the river and also a bike trail by the beach so I still ride bicycle frequently but not as much as when it was my job, sometimes when my motorbike needs repair or maintenance I'll use the bicycle as backup for work but really I love all bikes, motorized or human powered, bicycle is far more convenient than a motorcycle or car in a good city

Why are they so stupid? Iโd buy a racing SV over R7 if only it was a factory build

I live in a "walkable city" so I hate riding my motobaik or driving because it's usually no faster than a bicycle and feels like a waste of gas and wear on my engine if im not really saving time, but its also ghetto as hell and I have to ride my bicycle next to the meth and crackheads on the sidewalks and they just drop broken glass everywhere. So I dont even ride the bicycle as much as I wish I could. I just got this nice custom build road bicycle off Facebook too and it looks nicer than my motorcycle. But too much undesirables to use it.

Also, my track bicycle in city streets feels more dangerous than my motorcycle, like way more dangerous but it's a track bicycle, it has dangerously agile frame geometry, all carbon/aluminum, and can easily go 50kmh without a downhill

The difficult part about a nice bicycle is locking it up too, those same crackheads will go to great lengths to steal a nice bike. Parking a motorcycle is less stressful, far more bicycle thieves than motorcycle thieves
