What’s a dyke bike?
I assume a Harley because you see dykes on Harley’s and Indians at pride parades all the time but I feel like there’s gotta be a bit more diversity in that category
ADV’s are for hetero dentists with wives obviously and Hondas are for gay men.
But what do the lesbians ride? What’s the bike equivalent of their Subaru

Vibration but it’s more the bike is light so I have to anticipate when there’s wind or when passing a truck and counter to not move sideways inside the lane all the time Turning into headwind I need to put more throttle early or I’ll lose speed etc, and throttle 90% open all the time to stay at 130. It’s just not relaxed riding.
I’ll try some more bikes maybe a 450 single or a light twin. The AJP looks perfect interns of specs though it’s ugly and has very little dealerships here

I heavily encourage you to reconsider the T7. The bike being "boring" on pavement getting to trails is arguably a good thing, you'll have more focus/mental energy in reserve for the riding you actually want to be doing.

i did a very long highway trip on a very light single (<150Kg) and while i understand what you mean i really don't get how something like your adv that is just a bit heavier and has almost 20hp more than what i was riding could have such a problem with speed, the wind maybe but you are basically trading one slight annoying thing you only get on highway with a lot of wind with all the bonus of having a light bike.
You say you don't want a boring bike but getting a heavy two-cylinder bike that would fix your highway problems is probably going to make it even more boring and you get less fun when out of your highway commuting that is innately boring in the first place.
As the other anon said, maybe some more premium bikes can still be funbikes like the T7 or an old GS but you should probably try and see which one is a bit more "peppy" and still has some single vibes to it

Did Bakuon ever even have a single panel where the girls actually rode their bikes on a gravel road? I remember the one trip where they went down a dead end country rode, but they wouldn't even ride on the grass to turn around and all of them backed their bikes out on foot instead. Was Onsa a big old poser?
Should I be buying new? I only ask because I don't want the bike manufacturers dying.

if you've got money (AND TIME) to waste, yes
whenever you buy a new bike you have to always remember 2 things
1. Tax LOL
2. Run In Period
You lose 20% of the value on the bike simply by buying it new
and you cant have fun on it for the first like 3k-10k miles (manufacturer depending)
so if you want to buy a 1390 superduke, but it only be worth 80% of what you paid keep the revs below 4000 for 7500 miles, sure, buy new

Milk candy is cute! she is supposedly as skilled as Rin with riding but she also has wrenching skills!

Help me out here:
Am I being a retard for wanting to buy a bike between October and January in western Europe, where it doesn't even snow in December anymore?
Most of the time I'd use it for daily commutes and weekend tours, when the roads are ice-free I wouldn't mind driving it on the highways either. I even have access to a garage for the times I'm not gonna use it (most likely when it really gets shitty and freezing from january to mid march).
So far, people have given me different angles on purchasing a bike now:
>"they're most likely cheaper because dealerships gotta get rid of this/last year's models"
>"why would you buy one in winter when it's too cold and dangerous to drive?"
>"prices don't vary that much anymore, doesnt matter when you buy it"
>"it takes twice as long to get ready to drive to/from work on a bike than it takes to do it in a car"
They all make sense somehow, but it's what my heart wants. Are there any good reasons for buying one now instead of waiting another 3 to 5 months?
Just give me your objective takes on whether or not I'm being a naive idiot here for wanting to buy a bike now.

>drz4s (price, buzzy on highway)
>dr650 (weight)
>enduro 390 (jeeted, weight, clearly not rugged)
>xr650l (weight, top heavy)
I think my final contenders are the zooks, don’t wanna go hardcore with a 350 exc or 450rl bc of intervals.
Which would be a better hooligan dualsport? The drz or the dr?

i just bought my svartpilen brand new with more than 22% of discount without even asking for it: got it for cheaper than a royal enfield/cfmoto because dealership wanted more space for the newer models coming at the start of the year so they had big discounts on some smaller bikes that took space in an already crowded showroom.
My plan is to finish at least the break-in period before things start to get salty by trying to ride a lot by commuting and going out for the weekends and get some secured last rides of the year, then if the weather is nice i'll consider weekend rides trough winter and just deal with the fuckton of salt they sprinkle here but at least i got a very good deal and i'm ready for when temperatures rise back again

i think the bike itself looks very good (i know it's a very you either love it or hate it look, i personally think husqvarna has a really good simple style on it's bikes), and i actually wanted another mid sized motorcycle, something between 400 and 500ccs.
My previous old 350 was just barely enough for my riding and this one while it really isn't that much more in terms of engine size is both much more modern and a nice upgrade in power for not much weight gained compared to something like other 450/500ccs.
I know that it's basically just a dressed up duke and i know that is considered a very valid and reliable little bike, i was considering a used 390 but i really couldn't stand the look of them
The only thing i don't like would be the tablet but it looks like it's something inevitable on modern bikes apart from very few models that either somehow make it look good (himmy and guerrilla) or just skip them entirely for a more normal LCD or mixed LCD like the z650rs and triumph.
why do you think it's a bad choice? just because of the displacement?

I live in western europe like the anon that asked about buying a bike now.
Again i had no problem with a sub 30hp bike so far, this one is 47 so i really don't think it would be a problem with specs and it's not a second bike as in i still have the 350, just it would be my second bike ever.
it's not even a matter of being scared or not having the full license, i learned to ride on a sv650 i just don't need the power now and these are very cheap to buy and run so it seems the best for my needs at the moment

Honda loses to everyone, the CBR line is a failure, the firebird is overpriced shite, their best bike is the Grom. Yamaha is reduced to r1 and then a lineup of LARP bikes. Suzuki still reign supreme with the DRZ as the king of Sumos price/durability wise and the GSXR 600/1000 still being the squidlord bike with the best bang for your buck after Kawasaki killed the 636 and Honda killed the F4i.
Suzuki literally won by just not killing their already winning formula bikes. Honda and Kawi are reduced to being beginner brands you move on from, and Yamaha is currently doing its hardest to kill itself for tiktok views. Do nothing and win, Gixxerbros won, squids won.

Yamaha is coming out with V4 sport bike. I'm pretty sure they are going to come out with street version, and they are just going to take over any sales BMW S1K had. Suzuki on the other hand is releasing a revised K5 gsxr. I want Suzuki to win, but they are not even trying.

I said price/durability wise, yeah KTM still run the show overall for sumo, but every regular person on a normal budget picks a DRZ for a reason.
>Yamaha and Honda killed their bikes because they don't sell.
Not even an argument because Yamaha still sell R6's, but only track versions which is an even smaller pool of buyers. They killed the R6 solely to sell the LAR7P and LAR9P to people who want to pretend to be real race bike riders. Yamaha is turning into a LARP brand, Suzuki remains true to its squidlord street rider heritage with the best bikes for the price and ease to wheelie.
Its not about how many bikes are sold, its about if the bikes are for actual bikers, or just tiktok kids wanting LARP """"race"""" bikes that are just an MT-07 with fairings.

I swear to God the R6 autist from Georgia somehow memed this whole general. Bikes have development cycles. The R7 was being engineered and tested years before the decision was made to pull the R6 from road use markets. It was fulfilling a desire that the aftermarket for the MT07 was already catering to. A totally new front end and a close ratio transmission alone are a huge upgrade over a converted to fairing/clipons MT07.
The R9 is a legitimate attempt at a replacement but poorfags here are only buying $3000 clapped gixxer 600s and will just REEE about the tach numbers being smaller or a small percentage of bikes that were made by a miscalibrated robot welder and/or a quality inspector having a bad morning. NOBODY shits on Triumph for using a triple in their supersports, you guys just decided to listen to an actual autistic freak that still lives with his mom, avatarfags as yotsuba, talks like a baby, only squids around his town, does circles in a parking lot as his main form of riding, and got passed by maxwrist's tranny boyfriend because the R6 in particular is his Special Interest and he's eternally butthurt that too few people bought it to justify keeping it in production.

Illiterate ape can't even read two paragraphs. I mentioned that. That's a manufacturing process issue that is doubtlessly being adressed. They went to the effort of making a brand new frame instead of just messing up an MT09, that should be a pretty clear signal that they really cared about the bike.
>>28609836
>V4 sport bike
Who cares, another bike priced out of range to nearly everyone that will be only marginally faster than an R1, just like the v4 for Ducati.
Bikes already hit their apex in design, most people can't even handle a real liter bike, they ride them around in 6th gear at 75kmh or use low power modes for the newer ones like the s1k. The ZX4R is more exciting than another $50k bike no one has has the skill or money for.
600cc supersports should have been refined, not these v4 monster meme bikes for rich boomer cunts. Bring back the F4i, bring back the R6, bring back the real 03-04 636 instead of the current shit version. Focus on making bikes lighter and refine the reliability, make them corner monsters.
>>28609858
The LAR7P and LAR9P are not race bikes, stop the cope. Yamaha is a LARP brand that uses its previous heritage and pushed shitty MT-07 and MT-09 under the R name for a quick buck using that previous good will. Eventually the good name will lose power and the R7/R9 will be laughed at even worse than modern cbr and zx are.

Hp is a unit of worked defined by the mathematical formula torque * rpm/5252. A 900cc three cylinder has longer strokes and marginally heavier pistons. It's not going to rev as high. A bike with a flatter torque curve is going to require less shifting to stay in the usable powerband and will help riders be more consistent with their laptimes. 600cc was just a racing displacement limit. If you're shooting for a general hp target and have no a higher displacement limit, sometimes less cylinders, longer strokes is better. Nobody dunks on the RC51 for not making as much hp/L (completely stupid metric btw).

The DR650 has a wider ratio transmission and a fatter seat. It's kind of a proto-ADV, dirt focused. Big enough to be more stable on the highway, still enough of a dirtbike for a skilled rider to take on moderate singletrack. It would also require spending money on a conversion, vs you can find DRZ SMs all day.

Thats all I think of for Triumph, a brand of quirky cafe hipster bikes. Most of the time I'm shocked when I hear "daytona" because suddenly I remember that this brand has a random one off 600 supersport with no other sport models in the lineup. Crazy that Daytonas continue to exist, but somehow Yamaha thinks the R6 had to be canceled so their money hungry stock holders could rinse a quick couple bucks from retards lining up for the LAR7P.

I mean they hit their apex in terms of power levels and models, the 300->600->1000 supersport pipeline is good and anything over a 1000 is cool, but for a very, very tiny minority of rich cunts who also have crazy skill (so basically almost nobody).
The fact is that the 600 class is either equal with the past (GSXR/R6), or got worse (636/F4i). They should improve the models rather than shitting out 80 different meme models that serve no purpose like the LAR9P.

>Am I being a retard for wanting to buy a bike between October and January
yes, because the prices will start to drop in jan-march as the season comes back and dealerships are trying to shift old stock, or private sellers are realising they dont want a bike anymore, or want a new one for the new season
oct/nov/dec people are holding out for higher prices, thinking they can get a better price (as the seller) as people panic buy a bike for christmas
but statistically, prices will start to drop around blue monday (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Monday_(date) ) as people get desperate to pay off bills, depressed at the weather, or apathetic to the next season

Police particularly, because there's loads more and more of them leaving every year now
Last drive I noticed has a load shipping out in October, most of them have their affairs in order now, but earlier in the year riderbuddy I know got a 2000 mile, 23 player gixxer for about 1/2 market value, because the copper wanted rid of it quick and cash was easy
Current drive is around Manchester area with a lot of them shipping out March/April

Normies buy bikes in the spring and summer because that is when they can ride. They sell in late fall and winter when they can't. You will notice manufacturers offer the most rebates/sales in the winter. EICMA happens in early November and that is when new models are typically annouced, and manufacturers will start trying to clear out the old. I am sorry but your experience selling knit sweaters or other nonsense is not relevant to this discussion.

Functional purpose within the motorcycle world, no motorcycle has actual functional purpose, and touring is literally done better by adventure bikes. Harleys don't have the clearance for anything besides pavement.

I've ridden a couple harleys and honestly, I get it. I come from the dirt/dual sport world so I'd never buy one and frankly I think they're overpriced under-performing boomermobiles but they are fairly comfy and the loud thumpy exhaust is kind of cool. I'd 100% be more comfortable after putting 500+ miles on the interstate with your average cruiser than I do on my XR650.
The culture surrounding harley is what utterly fucking ruins it for me though. I was at a harley dealership looking at a used honda and someone ended up buying a road glide or something. The manager came over on the speaker asking everyone in the building to come up to the lobby floor and ring these cowbells and pull a train horn and cheer for this dude who had just financed like 30-something thousand dollars for the bike. It was the most aggressively homosexual thing I'd ever witnessed. Essentially it seems like harley has fully leaned into the sons of anarchy LARP and the type of person who would get one fully buys into the bullshit even though the price markup for performance is utterly insane
>>28610318
>>28610331
I sat on one of these and granted I'm a fucking lanklet but it felt too short and fat for me to consider taking off anything more technical than a gravel road. Also at like 20k MSRP for a base model, I'd rather just get a base model GS for 500 more dollars which is a proven model and feels like a much more capable bike all around.

Two actually, both to share the load and make the raising and lowering easier and safer.
I was swapping the rear so i did lock the front brake with a velcro strap and started slowly raising by the tail and passengers bars, One or two clicks at a time alternating straps, unloaded the shock and mounted the tall One and Just did the whole thing in reverse to compress It slightly and finish assembly and lining holes up. Once the rear was swapped i did the kick stand, unloaded the bike and did the same for the front to drop the forks.
While rear was kinda Easy i must admit the front was kinda sketchy as i couldn't bring the ladder as far to the front as i did on the back and so It was basically Just completely lifted and dangling there, not reccomended.
I don't think i'll ever Need to do something like that again

You sure it wasn't just from vibrations and holding weight with your hands/arms? Ideally you should hold your bars light as can be, but most people I see are riding all their weight on them, even sport bike riders. It takes a lot of conscious effort to get that habit of holding weight with legs, you almost want to be pushing up with your legs and pulling them in at the same time. Keeps your back nice and straight too.
Its a thing people are told, but like I said, most don't, and you do have to actively thing about it, just like how you have to think about your bad posture in your chair right now.

Well, it was a 1125r, so I obviously went fast and was pretty tense, as you can’t really relax while doing 100-120mph most of the way.
But yeah, you’re right, it might be due to body weight shifted on one of the arms, which led to an eventual injury.
My current bike is little bit more comfortable, but I’m really getting exhausted from wind hitting my upper torso and helmet. And that’s even behind an aftermarket touring screen. That’s why I’m hesitant about nakeds, despite loving their looks.

Thats fair, I mean pinched nerve will happen randomly in any sport, and people forget motorcycling is a sport (well, if you are doing 100+mph it is anyways, or hitting twisties really hard). So many bikers cry about back pain, and they are just totally out of shape, like no shit you have back pain, your core can't even support your body properly on a motorcycle. Dudes need to hit the gym, clean the diet, and then try again.
Real naked (stripped supersports) are a really niche thing that no one sells, but regular factory nakeds are made for people who don't go fast usually. They don't have the peg placement or clip on's to tuck properly, which means you hold dirt bike position on the highway, which would get old if you are abiding the law and just cruising around.
You seen the new Ducati Streefighter? Dirt bike bars and fucking WINGS, on a bike with NO FAIRINGS. What a sad fucking meme.
