Feminism was a natural reaction by the elites to Industrial society. Suddenly, women were a viable workforce that could do a just fine job in many parts of the assembly line.

This also helped to drive down wages, since there was now more competition for many types of work, since females could do many of these new jobs.

This is why you saw the introduction of Feminism in force by 1848. By then we're about 100 years into the Industrial Revolution and the elites have had plenty of time to see where society was headed.
