i watched it again last year and it was jarring how many religious themes there were. It was John Hughes reminiscing and portraying a glorified image of his childhood, closer to an affluent '50s to '70s upbringing.

There are movies that better portray what the '90s were like, in reality it was a lot more humble, though everyone was still white and people could afford trips to disneyland, and flight was better than it is today.

It really was still pretty great in the early 90s.
