But a good test of whether I consider someone "my people" or not, is whether I would be dissapointed or not based on who my (theoretical) daughter brought home. I also have no interest in seeing my people get replaced by meds or slavs.

A lot of English people have some Irish ancestry and vice versa, because these are small islands which have been exchanging people for thousands of years around the area of the North Sea.

The English today are a mixture of the Anglo-Saxons and Celtic Brythonic people. Nobody ever mentions the Welsh but they still exist, but have been basically part of England for so long now that probably nobody outside of the UK thinks of them as a separate people (but they are). Same with the Cornish, although they form more of a cline from west to east, basically the further east the more Anglo-Saxon, the further west the more Celtic, and that's also true of the north of England.
