I have all the qualifications to at least get basic entry-level jobs but despite constant herculean efforts, I've been unemployed for almost 2 years. Anyone else in the same boat? How did you end up as an outcast in your own civilisation?

I have a clean record, the qualifications but I can't even get a job as a dishwasher or burger flipper. Fuck this place. Welfare in N.I. is low and I can barely afford to feed myself. My alcoholic retard father and lunatic mother didn't prepare me for how hard life would be. My life is one big humiliation ritual. I'm going to get back into education, but at the moment I desperately need money. I hate this shit. I have no real friends, no happy memories and no prospects of having my own family,

Their house didn't even appreciate faster than inflation after 20 years.
Had an asperger and schizophrenic (clinically diagnosed) brother. Dad was an aggressive hoarder and saved no money . He died of cancer when I was 18 and left nothing. House wasn't worth the equity in it after the neglect it had.
I wanted to do tech and there was no opportunity. Nobody wanted anything to do with me because my family had no lineage there.
I was working for sub minimum wage until I was 19. Then had to flee across the country to get away from my shithole family and town. Couldn't even finish college due to depression.
And of course, I'm a white male, so all the faggot hiring manager women tell me I'm privileged.

Somehow through, I got a single lucky break and privervially slept under my desk to show them how fucking hard I was willing to work. They actually scratched my back too, and somehow I have a cushy $170k WFH job.
Do I deserve it? Probably not. But I'm grateful.

I had to get pulled out of school. Sensory overload year after year, the stress just kept snowballing and life became living hell. I developed all sorts of mental disorders due to the long term stress. I wasn't functional. I had to leave. It took me most of my teenage years to recover by just being a hermit. By the time I reached 18, I was doing ok. I was getting out and trying to be normal again. I started lifting and boxing, I got really fit, I felt great. I overcame the social anxiety that I had gotten after years of being isolated. But then in doing all this, I realised my limits and that I would never be who I wanted to be. I would never be able to fully actualise myself or just be someone I could be happy enough with. I was still and will always be a disabled autistic tard. That is my lot in life. I couldn't accept it and when I was 20, because of this I fell into a deep depression and just stopped everything. For a while I couldn't bare to do anything I was so hollowed. Not even watch tv, or play a video game. Eventually I started playing video games again just to distract myself and escape form the despair. I never really overcame it. Nothing changed. It's just you can only suffer like that for so long. It took me until I was about 27 to reconcile with myself. But after all those years, I don't know what the fuck i'm supposed to do with my self now. I have very little life experience. I haven't a clue. I've been entertaining the idea of starting a home business, but I don't know. Things are complicated for me. If I could mange to do it, it would suit me much better than employment

I'm planning on going back to tech. Over here you do access to university courses which are free if you're unemployed. I do technically have some "experience" but it's been overshadowed by years of trauma. Most of my experience is people beating me, rejecting me, talking shite about me, terrorising me and treating me as an "other". I did everything I could to appear normal, I genuinely went above and beyond but it never worked out. I went to churches, chatted with nicer people in Belfast in student bars but all it did was remind me of how alienated I am from people. It reminded of the majority of people have not experienced the misery I did and I could never relate to them.

I am not a violent or criminally minded guy, but from the violence I endured (as a kid) my nose is disfigured and at a time I had small facial scars (that have mostly faded). I also used to be really defensive and on guard. I just looked like and had the demeanour of someone dangerous, so of course that didn't help. But if you had spent your most formative years being the victim of violence and terror, it doesn't exactly help with making a person well adjusted. People really aren't aware of how violent working class ulster prod communities are. For years I had fantasies about being reborn into a better community with better people.

I had this problem too. I never had an in group. Eventually I had to realize I needed to take pride in myself as an individualist. I don't need a group and I don't need to proxy their beliefs as a package deal.
It's good to have individual friends that support you for you. And good to have a romantic partner if you so desire.
And finally, don't let a lack of a well paying job invalidate you. It doesn't mean you're incapable or unqualified. Our system is not a meritocracy. There are plenty of people who don't get what they deserve.

I didn't resent them for being naive and soft upper middle class people. I don't blame them for that. But I felt like I had to put on some tiring facade as not to scare or offend them. I'm not some big tough guy that can beat everyone up, it's just hard being around people that I could never reveal the horrors I experienced. I'm not saying my experience was like that of a veteran, but it must be somewhat similar to how they feel. I've been stabbed, I've been stamped on and had fireworks thrown at me just because I beat up the wrong guy in a self defence situation. Maybe I'm too jaded or whatever.

Well I only have two options: get a job then go back to tech and get to uni or join the armed services. I don't want to join the army but I seriously have no other options. I'm thinking of doing a reservist role while studying part time, but knowing my luck a war will happen and I'll be conscripted.
