The difference is between libertarians and the Libertarian Party. The Libertarian party has always been controlled opposition, so most people with libertarian ideals don't associate with them.

Beyond that, many libertarians have migrated toward Trump and wven further away from the Libertarian Party due to tariffs (and selling heroin to kids). They are also supporting the current Republican Party as a response to the Democrats becoming worse and worse.
