My dad is the exact same way. I even tried to illustrate in car rides with him that his stress and aggravation is really pointless. I show him the estimated ETA on GPS, which assumes that the travel time is the speed limit, and show him that he shaves off only about 2-5 minutes or less by going 10 over and speeding through yellow lights.
