Can't afford expensive food without SNAP? Why won't you just split the bill with your family/friends and buy a 25kg bag of rice like normal people do in the times of crysis?

Food is so easy. Just buy meat for 50-75% off on its last sell by date and put it in the freezer. Cook it with some cheap non-protein and spices. Eat a fruit before or after for extra fiber. You will feel full for a long time, lose weight if you're a fatty, and costs are almost third world tier.

Level 2: have some big planters in your garden or on your balcony and grow some kale, arugula, pea, other edible green plant mass. Takes care of itself and you can clip some off for every meal most of the year.

You’re a Pole. Your family, friends, and culture have been shaped by hardship. You have to understand that the United States has not had any sort of external, or internal, pressures to unite us, for many years. As a collective whole, we are divided. the siege of Budapest in the winter of 1944/45 and the associated famine gave a number of survivors PTSD so that for the rest of their lives they kept a buffer of non-perishable food e.g. 50 kg of sugar and flour which they consumed in a FIFO discipline. so these people would just have gone and checked that the buffer is of full length when the crisis struck.

Chinx have a long history of poisoning themselves with everything harmful under the sun (lead, mercury, chemical waste, oil, you name it). Hence why it's important to know the source of the rice. If it's not listed and especially if it's cheap, you run a good chance of them poisoning you too.

If you take basic culinary classes like French cooking for a while you'll pick up basic skills that apply to pretty much everything for making all foods edible and extends into Creole/Cajun American cooking. Might be able to substitute classes for free education if you start watching cooking videos, Julia Child and Jacq Pepin were my first inspirations for taking classes so see what your local uni or town offers. I'd say Babish, Townsends, and Max Miller are worth watching. If you get a job in a kitchen, especially an upper class place, you learn skills for free while also getting paid to be there, I served rich snobs for years coming from nothing and it's about as good as it gets for a modern peasant if you can take the stress and abuse

most starches are nutritionally complete save for vitamins a, c, d,, and b12. there is a reason that every civilization that has ever existed has been fed on starches. lentils are great, but so is rice, corn, millet, amaranth, beans etc etc.
so to complement your starch you need a small amount of veg with vitamin c, and a small amount with vitamin a. so a small serving of carrots and cabbage, which are both dirt cheap. it takes decades to run out of b12, but if you feel better get some tablets and take one once a month. they usually have 10000x the rda in one pill so even that often is most likely overkill
and lentils are very high in protein in comparison to rice. some people have kidney issues and the extra protein is hard on the kidneys because excess protein is very acidic. you only need 5-6% of your calories to come from protein. and there is also no need to mix and match for "complete proteins", the idea is nonsense and came from a 70's diet book. the author has since disavowed the idea herself in recent printings.
so to take an example from the foods you mentioned, pasta with tomatoes gives you everything except d and b12. you can live on a diet like this and not just survive, but be healthier than most people you know. cutting out excess protein and oils makes you feel like a million bucks, and i say this as a former keto and carnivore fag.

American butcher service is scum bags. They charge a enormous amount and the end result is you spend 5k and maybe save 200 bucks on meat but then you have to store it. Some places are worse. It's a trade that is going away and those who still do it will gouge the fuck out of those who don't have the means to. I know a guy who was crazy enough to do it in a suburban area in his garage and the end result was making his entire property smell, blood stained driveway, and had to emergency buy a second outdoor freezer lmao. He saved a lot of money but all the bitching and even cops showing up to ask him wtf he was thinking wasn't worth it. They told him of he did it again he could get public nuisance and environmental fines.

There is a reason why hunters I'll process and bag meat in the woods - then hump it back to the truck and dump it in to a ice chest. Shit is messy and most Americans can't do it in a way that's worth it.

I went 3 years without touching added sugar and that 95% lindt dark chocolate started tasting like 45%. Break sugar addiction by not adding it to anything and not eating anything that has it added. Something I picked up on doing in the states was I read every ingredients label before I put it in the cart. Imagine offloading a cow in a suburban area, shooting it in the head in your front yard, then chaining and hoisting it up on a rig in your garage or a tree and then bleeding, gutting, and fully processing. You would have your neighborhood screaming at you.

who cares if you disagree? personal incredulity is not an argument
ad hominem is not an argument either
we know through various means how much protein is needed. you would know this if you watched the video. you would also know that excess protein is the driver of many of today's chronic illnesses, which only the rich used to get. these illnesses are unheard of in rural 3rd world places where mostly everyone eats a single starch as 80-90% of their calories. these same people are much better off healthwise than their urban counterparts.
one thing to notice is that human milk is only around 5-6% protein, and that is to make a small baby into a much bigger baby as quickly as possible. it is mostly sugar and fat.
also take american blacks, who have lupus in huge amounts, it is almost thought of as a black disease at this point it's so common. their diet is high in animal fats and proteins. in africa, lupus is basically unheard of, and only among the rich.

there is no need to eat "pounds and pounds" of lettuce, as you only need 5% of your calories to come from protein. all it does is make new hair and fingernail cells, replace muscle cells. it does not provide energy unless the body turns it into sugar, aka CARBS. your cells run on carbs. your brain runs on CARBS. when you are starving your brain eats your muscles and makes CARBS for your brain. the cells in your muscles run on CARBS. your need CARBS to make atp, which is energy.

It is expensive.
6 years ago it was half that for 1000lb steer.
But it's nowhere near as bad as it's going to get, because current prices haven't even trickled down to the store yet, and they have stupid people selling everything, and failing to do the thing that keeps farms alive through the lean years: holding back for next year.
If mad cow hits next spring (my family lived through it in Ireland in the 80's and in Canada in the 90's) the small rancher is finished in this country forever.

>Yeah and you can do that with protein, it's called gluconeogenesis.
that is exactly what i was describing
> You don't need carbs really.
yes you do. your brain runs on carbs. even when ketosis is induced, the brain only takes up about 14% of the ketones and the rest is still glucose, the fuel your body runs on.
ketosis is something we have for adaptability to extreme environments. it is very unhealthy long term, as i found out.
https://youtu.be/BjPFuwPUI-c
both guys that run this channel are ex-keto guys who were also weston a price foundation followers for years.
fat decreses insulin sensitivity. you eventually end up storing fat in all your muscle tissues, organs, etc. you look like wagyu beef on the inside.
sugar, on the other hand, reverses type 2 diabetes while fat causes it. doctors have been using high carb diets (kempner rice diet, oatmeal diet) to reverse type 2 diabetes for over a century.
>how retard r u?
not really at all. this is exactly what happens. this is why your body sacrifices muscle in order to make glucose for your brain.
all the studies show that the majority of weight loss on keto is waterweight, followed by muscle loss, and some bone loss as well from the high protein consumption. fat loss comes in last place. keto will also ruin your metabolism long term. many people that did keto and switch to high carb, low fat low protein struggle to lose weight for 1-2 years while their bodies learn to adapt. paradoxically eating an excess of carbs leads to weight loss.

type 1 diabetics know that all they need to do to lose weight is to inject themselves with less insulin and keep their blood sugar higher.
when the body is in a caloric deficit, it gets panicky and starts to put on weight.
humans are also very poor at making fat from sugar. on the other hand, eaten fat must first be stored as fat before being used by the body for energy.

pack cabbage in jars add 1 tsp salt and put lids on finger tight. place jars in canner and add water a quarter of the way up the jars. put canner lid on, once the canner has vented 10 minutes apply pressure at 10 pounds for 20 minutes. let canner completely cool before removing pressure weight.

so you did something poorly
what were you eating? if you were eating free fats this will happen
also if you have a history of calorie restriction or keto, like me. i am not losing weight after several months and became sure that it would not work for me. but this lady here had the same issue because she did the same things i did. after a couple of years she all the sudden started losing weight. i remember there is a carnivore diet woman who had the same issue, she did the diet for years before losing weight. anyways, she has a masters in human nutrition and does a really informative channel. she eats tons of fruit all day every day and does not get fat from it.
and before you say exercise, excerisce is proven to be the worst way to lose weight. it's good for you in other ways, i don't discourage it, it just doesn't help you lost weight very much. your brain uses more energy (glucose) in most cases.

look into the kempner rice diet
https://youtu.be/_WCzg1Ca1Dw
high carb diets have been used since the times of the ancient egyptians as the video shows.
kempner had an almost 100% success rate in curing type 2 diabetes with rice, fruit, table sugar and fruit juice. sugar increases insulin sensitivity. don't believe me? then google that phrase and see what you get

ah, more non-specific and vague insults, as well as calling me indian. that sure is witty and clever.
no argument to be seen
you're right, poor people should all eat ribeyes all day, what was i thinking.
people will die because they opted to store the wrong food. you don't need much more than rice and some sources of vits a and c. many people are worried about their families being fed properly now what with all the economic woes, much less when shtf.
educating people about what they need vs want is very important in this regard. you are actively hindering and harming your fellow man, and you think you are clever for doing so.
you will die from trying to hunt for meat, it doesn't have enough fat in most cases. natives used to starve all the time from high protein diets with no fat, it's called rabbit starvation. the diet of the north american natives in most cases was about 80-90% starch, just like everywhere else in the world. corn, beans and squash. meat was more catch-as-can and sporadic. not a reliable food source, hence the only semi-nomadic nature of most tribes.
if you look at the ira guys in the 70's who died in a hinger strike, you see that they died from low body fat, not low protein. nobody dies from low protein, it doesn't happen. you don't need protein shakes, powders and bars etc. absolutely superfluous. it's like soaking your backseats in gasoline after the tank is full because gas is awesome and makes you go fast. it must be a good idea!
so in order to survive, you need ENERGY. your body uses CARBS for ENERGY. is this getting through yet? protein does not give you energy very efficiently, it is not meant for energy, it's for repair. if your house doesn't need repairs, does it make sense to nail random boards all over it because "more boards means better"? in the same way, you don't need tons of protein. it gives you arthritis too.

People are poor in the United States because they are completely irresponsible and make poor lifestyle choices.

For people who buy rice and things like that in bulk and prepare meals at home, the price of food is almost free, it's like 10% of your income cleaning toilets.

The people complaining don't have time for that, they have to eat ultra processed foods, that is why they are usually 300lbs and the kids are measurably retarted.

you were not losing weight becuse you did keto and other calorie restriction
i specifically mentioned fats and oils, and you dutifully neglected to say anything, which makes me think you were using lots of fats and oils.
you were also most likely not eating enough. you need to have the caloric surplus in carbs in order to boost metabolism. undereating makes you fat. it increases cortisol bc stress. sugar lowers cortisol and lowers stress btw.
i also did extended water fasts, my longest being 21 days on water and coffee, and a little salt. it was quite the experience but it really did metabolic damage on me. do not calorie restrict.
the woman i posted, nutrition by victoria, deals with tons of clients who have this same issue from years of restrictive dieting.

>People are poor in the United States because they are completely irresponsible and make poor lifestyle choices.
largely i would agree. we also have to notice the other side of the coin, which is the trillion dollar plus platos' cave type apparatus which is used to dumb down everyone since childhood. they deliberately create this consumer mindset and feedback loop of "buy thing >dopamine hit > buy another thing>dopamine hit". this has to be inculcated in people on purpose.
one thing i noticed is that thirdies almost always try to start businesses in canada vs being employed. and even if employed, they wish to start a business. they have much lower iqs but so much more commons sense and thrift
they never grew up with a screen in front of them all day letting them know they are inferior bc no jordans or whatever. look at all the anons itt talking about "peasant food", just snobbery

>do people eat pounds and pounds of meat at ever meal? what are you on about? what a retarded straw man, shame is the only thing you should feel for a long, long time after posting that kinds of crap
>there is no need to eat "pounds and pounds" of lettuce, as you only need 5% of your calories to come from protein. all it does is make new hair and fingernail cells, replace muscle cells. it does not provide energy unless the body turns it into sugar, aka CARBS. your cells run on carbs. your brain runs on CARBS. when you are starving your brain eats your muscles and makes CARBS for your brain. the cells in your muscles run on CARBS. your need CARBS to make atp, which is energy.
>and you get as much as you need from rice only, burgerwit

Meat is a lot denser than greens. The amount of volume you would need to eat to get the same protein in weight of meat would not accommodate your stomach. Like i said humans are not ruminating animals like cows with multiple stomachs to digest greens into protein. This is obvious which is why humans are omnivores. As for your spill about carbs well yes grains can transformed into sugar which is energy. You are correct people need to eat carbs or they will not have energy. That's why a balanced diet of meat, greens and carbs is ideal. I don't agree about replacing vegetables for meat and eating a strictly diet of carbs and vegetables. You need protein to repair your body. And you need a lot more than you are recommending, especially if you are doing physical exercise.

Only 5% of your calories from protein is not enough unless you are not physically excerting yourself at all.
