did u have any dreams?

>Long sleeves, I do like those
i like the them in the winter. but in the summer for me its torture to wear them. if i do wear them, usually i roll them up to my elbow. (looks very cool)
>I am lucky I work in a cold basement
...that doesnt really sound like a great workplace environment. but i guess at least you dont sweat to death. working in kitchens in the middle of the summer is torture...

Those will probably help. But it could be caused by anything. Stress, too much noise/light, your brain not being able to calm down, and so on.

I did. One where I went back to my old school, saw an old friend, and he insisted that I wasn't actually me and was assuming the identity of myself to mess with him. Also at some point I invited George Lucas to my house and he showed up and I very sheepishly asked him some Star Wars questions.

More work. Also hosting the movie night, but that might get pushed back a week if the turnout is low enough.

>>81498377
>when i started taking it i expect some drastic changes and that i would finally be able to get some real sleep.
it's just the hormone your body makes when you're sleepy/sleeping. There's another one that keeps you awake, which your body makes while you sleep, and when there's more of that you can't sleep.
To be honest you should only really be using melatonin to sleep earlier or counter jet lag.
>i believe everytime i do it i get very realistic dreams that night

what makes you think that?
all i'm doing is for the sake of work, it sucks to work with people you don't get along with so i might as well try to get on their good side
>What makes u think it's going badly?
see, whenever i try to make friends, there's always a massive gap between me and whoever else i'm trying to befriend
sometimes this gap is represented by their interests being too different, sometimes it's their way of thinking, sometimes it's the physical distance between us
i've seen this gap so many times and i haven't been able to bridge it, save for one time but the gap was physical distance, the easiest of which to bridge (with tech)

the gaps i see with people there are mostly on the interest and mindset sides, which are not easily bridgeable at all
so no, i think i can make some interesting acquaintances there, but friends? definitely not

I like it a lot more than the last one, even though the rent is over 1.5x as much. Although given how infrequently I go into the office I'm wondering if I should have picked somewhere an hour away like TKO and had a nicer/cheaper place.
>adapting well?
Yes, I'm eating out a lot less often and generally feel less garbage. It's much less noisy as well. Once I get on top of work maybe I'll start using the treadmills in the building's gym.

I asked him why he decided on the name "Sheev" for the emperor and he kind of did a smile and laughed.

There's probably some drug out there that does that but I'm not too knowledgeable. If your sleep is that bad you should probably ask a doctor.

i feel a middle ground would be better if you don't go into office too frequently, but living close by also has its perks
the less time you waste in transit, the better, even if you don't go in frequently

>eating out a lot less often
i might start that routine myself to be fair with you

I live in a pretty new building. There's a pool and a games room as well, but I'm not sure anyone actually uses them probably because you have to pay. It's not uncommon here if you're in a high-rise.
>unless you think you'll take longer to get your work stuff sorted out
I think as soon as this project for my supervisor is done I'll consider myself on top of work. Although I'm still behind on my thesis, I'm not too worried it won't get done. I've still got ~8 months to write the first two chapters.

>i used to waste 2 hours in transit before i moved which was awful
I used to have a 2 hour commute each way when I worked in London. That really took it out of me.
>nice, i'm getting a smaller one with like, 90 liters capacity
Mine's on the smaller side but it works just fine for me. It just holds a lot of drinks and some cheese. And some ice cream in the freezer bit as of today.
>bit too expensive for my tastes
I would have gone for somewhere cheaper but my mother insisted that I opt for a nicer place and offered to help cover the difference, which was very nice of her. I'm still her baby, I suppose.
>how long do you reckon that'll take?
No idea. A couple dozen hours probably. I've got (at least) another 30 papers to leave and I still have to write the damn thing. It would be a lot easier if he gave me a less dumb topic to research that's even tangentially related to our field. He needs to forcibly talk to someone in the compsci faculty and be dragged kicking and screaming off the AI hype train. I shouldn't even be humouring this project.
>if you ask me, better get to it asap
Yeah, that's the plan. Fortunately I'm very meticulous when I write stuff and usually submit the first draft without any issues (sans peer review stuff) so I'm not too worried. I just need to put everything down in the first place.

Yeah, sewing is a lot of bending over a table or a machine, even if I try my best to have good posture !
>I used 2 have lots of nightmares as well. 2 the point where i was afraid of going 2 bed. Maybe that's what's causing u 2 lose sleep?
Aww, I'm sorry Guya :< . In my case, it's definitely causing sleep issues. Maybe why I can't fall asleep either ? I'm scared of the nightmares ?

It wasn't too awful since it was a hybrid thing and I'd only do it every two weeks but it was exhausting.
>do give her a hug when you can
I really need to call her more often. The time zones and the paper thin walls in my last flat made that a bit difficult but I don't have much of an excuse not to now.
>AI is all the rage right now but it sucks so terribly sometimes...
He wants me to change my thesis to something AI related but I've been explicitly told by a professor I trust more not to do that because it's such an oversaturated area now.

Also a big development: my new stuffed friend arrived yesterday. Did some digging, turns out she's a character from Honkai Star Rail named Sparkle? I only recently learned about that. She's pretty cute and well-made I think.

Stark few ecologists advocate keeping them around, at least the disease carrying ones and the species that bite humans. We've been researching how to kill and sterilise them for decades and we could probably do it if enough countries signed off on it.

Been a bit busy during these last few days and also tired, so I'm trying to quit coffee again and I somehow managed to get through the day with just one cup of tea despite having slept less than usual. Gonna sleep early today to compensate.
I just wanna be less tired on the weekends so I can draw and write again, I tried to draw this last saturday and I just couldn't...

Also watched Wake in Fright yesterday, it's a movie about a guy getting stranded in a small australian town in the inmorality of the people living these. The original film was lost at some point in time but a few years ago it was rescued, remastered and rereleased. It's interesting butI wouldn't really recommend it to everyone since it has a scene in which they haunt live animals (the film is from 1971, animal rights weren't the same as now, they even showed the scenes to animal welfare organisations in Australia and the UK and they thought it was OK).

I've heard about that one but never watched it. Lost films are really interesting to me. Was that the one that was days from being destroyed?
