Anyway, you got the sequence wrong. You're supposed to compliment her first, then quickly introduce yourself, THEN ask a question to get a conversation going. You skipped the first TWO and went straight to the question. Also, and this is important, hitting on one girl a day is going to take too long. You have to do this with every cute girl you see.

Here's what should should have done.
1. Compliment - Say something nice about how she looks or how she acts, any random thing about her. "I love your outfit!" or "Those shoes are so cool!"
2. Introduction - The moment she says "Thank you" say "Hi, I'm anon" and you hold out your hand for her to shake it. Then you quickly go to
3. Question - The avacodo thing was good, but it could have been better. Instead of saying "You good at picking ripe ones" you should have said "So how can I tell when these are ripe? When I buy them they always go bad the next day."

The problem with asking "Are you good at picking the ripe ones?" is that it invites a simple yes or no answer and you risk the conversation dying. When you instead ask her "So how can you tell when these are ripe?" it invites her to explain how she knows which are the good ones. It even gives you the chance to flirt a little, because she'll probably tell you to give them a little squeeze to see if they're firm. You'd smile and say "Just a little squeeze?" Then you can compliment her again and say "Well you seem to know what you're doing. So what do you use avocados for anyway? Do you make your own guacamole or do you have them in salads?" etc., etc.

Now keep in mind that no matter how well you do there is no guarantee of success with any one particular woman. She may have her husband waiting for her in the car in the parking lot, or she may have just come from a funeral
