I don't use 4chan often. (this is my first post) I'm on a nihilistic bender rn, any comments on this topic will be much appreciated.
What gives you purpose in life? How do/did you find it? is it worth it to live past my late 20s.Does my life matter

It's a pointless question.
Life is to be lived. To experience all emotions, being "happy" is a meme.
Sadness, pain, sorrow, anger, joy, pleasure, all are to be experienced as they come, as that is to be alive.
Each person has a different personality, which means that they each have a different answer. For me, I feel most fulfilled when I'm helpful to other people and appreciated for it. I want a family. I want that 1 person that I can build a home with and become each other's entire world.
Ofc, I hate myself and I'm alone. That's why I'm here. I can't get what I want the most.
It's ironic how it's the opposite of what I am atm. Or maybe that is the point.

Everything I said there save the reference to dead parents applied to your quandary as well. I too suffered through nihilism on multiple occasions and I will probably do so in the future. I even intended to kill myself in my late 20's, but I'll be turning 31 in before the year is through and much of my will to live is based around this goal-based mentality.

Nothing matters, if an asteroid hit the earth and killed everyone none of this would have mattered. Jesus, Rome, Hitler, rock and roll, coca cola, trump. None of this matters.

One day if you are lucky you will be old, then you'll die, and your skin will rot, and bones will turn to dust, and you will be no more. at best a memory in some peoples heads, but they will die someday too.

All that being said, you are supposed to stare into the abyss and not despair. You are supposed to see it as an opportunity, to make your own morality, to make your own purpose. suffering is good for you, it gives you purpose. that which does not kill me makes me stronger.

enjoy the tragedy of life, good and bad, thats how you should live

How old are you? Your purpose is whatever you decide it is based on what makes the most sense to you or gives you the most satisfaction. Steve Irwin's purpose was saving wildlife and wrestling gators. That might not be your purpose or what you're into. Nobody can answer the question for you. If I tell you the purpose of life is to have no purpose or the purpose of life is to work a 9 to 5 and you disagree and say "nuh uh, I don't wike it" then that just proves my point. Not only is purpose personal and what you decide it to be but it is different for everyone.
Nobody is going to give you the answer and if they did would you be satisfied with the answer they give?

Basically people go through stages in life (and get trapped at certain ones):
>1)Blue pill stage
The world is fair/just, if you follow the rules you'll be rewarded. Trust the experts (or priests), consooming=happiness, YOLO!
>2)Disillusionment
Why does everything keep getting worse? Why doesn't anyone notice?! We need to burn down the system and put (my ideology) and (my leader) in charge!

life has no point, everyone is a POS, bad people always win, success depends on luck, things will only get worse, I should just kill myself but instead I'll just exsist. (note: "optimistic nihilists"(post modernists) are at stage 1)

Life has no inherent meaning but you can make meaning for yourself, strive because you'll suffer anyways, so you might as well try, what else you gonna do?

The purpose of life is immortality projects, pick the highest goal you can set and go for it. Make as much of difference in this world as you can and let your accomplishment echo through the ages.

Maybe there is a way to control my mind/emotions purely from internal practices like meditation or visuals or whatever, then I can circumvent all status games and just make myself feel whole.

howdy, i was legit having thoughts on the matter this morning
whatever the heart wants, no matter how silly, childish, degenerate or violent, if you dont satisfy it, bad feels start piling up
theres also the issue when feller is hard depressed one not might want anything to begin with, or what you want is next to impossible, both sucks
about your questions, i gots no goals, i dont know you so your life dont matter to me
i answer most posts just to satisfy me own social need to interact with others
after 30ish, something just clicked tho, i stopped caring and/or worrying about many things, if i were to give one advice would be to find something you can lose yourself into so you stop thinking about life, its a destructive way to live but you will be glad about those days in which you didnt think about killing yourself or how life sucks cuz your mind was busy, except before sleeping, that never goes away

This is a prison reality and it's purpose is to farm you of emotional energy (loosh) usually suffering

Every being here consumes something to survive. What makes you think humans are the top of the food chain. What do interdimensional beings subsist on?
