Lying in LoP isn’t meant to be “evil” the idea is that we as humans lie to protect who we love and to give small comforts to people who have little hope left. Lying in and of itself isn’t framed as a moral bad because bad things can come from lying. Even if you do agree that lying is morally wrong no matter what, if you had to lie to protect your family from being killed you absolutely would and that’s the point of LoP.
