There is this sense of anger one gets when you see those left behind, because grief is for the living. These children, the family, will now grow up and go on without a central part of their lives. They will never be the same again. And all for something that is so senseless and avoidable. Jota was literally at the top of the world, just won the league, peak of his career, just gotten married, and the ultimate prize…three beautiful children. And now it’s all shattered through a simple choice of driving too fast.

You can spend a lifetime building something and have it all taken away in a momentary act. I hope all the young men seeing this tragedy can just take a moment to think and slow down. No one is invincible, no one is immune. My heart breaks for his family.
