I'm the opposite, I still love programming as a hobby but I could never do it as a job again
I think it's better to major/pursue a career in something that you don't love but don't hate, else either the corporate "professional" world will erode your passion for it, or you'll want to put a bullet through your skull leaving the office every night

"Codependency" is a word tossed by redditors and the like who want other people to do things for them, or want to downplay their whoredom. It's also pushed by the media to brainwash people into thinking that they need a partner and children so that they consoooom more products and drive GDPR.
Limerance is just an example of obsessive thinking, where one fixates on an abstraction of an object of desire that is typically beyond their teach. Because they have the confidence, charisma and other personality traits to be socially/romantically successful; they could apply this to other domains also like a career in sales or whatever but simply choose not to
The losers who are "too ashamed" to try either did try previously and crashed and burned (this learning from experience), or are aware of the fact that even if they did try, they wouldn't hold a handle to the smarmy ""loser"" womanisers who have a natural proclivity for seduction
Just my 2c anyway from experience and observations
