As a guy that lives in the middle of farmland I started to detest farmers once I started to get to know them.
They would cut every tree and kill every bird for their open-air factories. They'll put the ground full of tubes to drain the water quickly, just so they can then spray water themselves when it's getting dry to create perfect micro environments at the cost of our drinking water and animal diversity. They're just turbo capitalists like every other company and they'll destroy everything.

As silent protest I'm growing trees and flower fields at the edges of my propery and their fields.
And growing food myself permaculture style.

The garden needs to fit where the lower left pasture is (Figure it out by rotating crops you won't be able to handle a garden that big at first anyway) and all the rest needs to be pasture, and you will still be spending $200 a month on feed for the cattle / pigs / chickens and your water bill is going to be triple whatever it is by yourself.

I have a greenhouse where I grow peppers, tomatoes, melon, basil and cucumber.
Scattered around my property I have pumpkin and butternut.
A few plots of land with potaties, sweet potatoes, zuchini, pickles, more tomatoes, carrots, parsnip rucola, lettuce and broccoli.
Some beds for herbs and such where i also grow strawberries.
2 apple trees, 1 pear, 1 prume, 1 cherry, 2 walnut trees, a few hazelnut trees, 2 blueberry bushes, 1 raspberry bush, 2x cranberries, blackberries.

Working on preparing more land for next year, my goal is to be able to use 4-year rotations while providing 80%+ of my (and wife) required food.
Apart from grains and meat that is, I have a good bio butcher with grass fed animals and get flour from the mill to bake my bread.

Not only does it keep me physically active without having to be gay in a gym, it draws me outside all year round and gives a lot of fullfillment. Plus, what's better than fresh self grown food? Nothing.
