He's the one person you can count on as a reliable narrator to what Asgore and Toriel were like before the setting. And she loves Undyne and Susie, who are both some of the higher tier characters in both stories.
He clearly retains this character trait in Deltarune, as he quickly picks up on Susie and Kris' characters.

Is this just a coincidence? Is it possible that Gerson simply about not using the crystal? It feels too specific to be an accident, but maybe Toby just wanted to make him stand out more in both cases.
Despite him being the easiest secret boss by far, I think he might be my favorite. What a cool guy.

Ralsei is based on Asriel, but when you base darkner around normal person the person in question loses their mind. Thats what happened to Gerson.
You encountered Gerson in susie fountain, but that was the REAL Gerson, until that point you only talked with his copy.
Goat is hidding this from you. He thinks real Asriel left Kris behind, so he wants to protect him.
