Landing gear in NO are actually very beefy, the plane is much sturdier than real one.
For the rest, it is as favorable to aircraft as it can be with modern tech. Until the devs introduce Wingmen drone you have to fly with to approach any sort of air defense

You did notice there's a Virtual Joystick option, right?
I hate the helicopter default setting but airplane are ok. Especially when it has to jungle with multiple type of jet vectoring
