Oh wait, sorry I guess the whole "actually, Void Co built a time machine to kidnap Pauline in the past instead of just kidnap present day Pauline" makes more sense. Or wait, how about "Void Co wipes Pauline's memories, but only very, very specific memories about her confidence in singing and knowing DK! Then they transform her into a child and then transform her yet again into a rock!" Because Nintendo would never ever ignore or retcon the sacred Rareware lore of Cranky, that just doesn't make any sense. It has to be a sequel instead!
