i was just giving paid game examples that feel more predatory to me.
i just play gotcha games as filler between releases of games i actually care about, i played Monster Hunter Wilds but already did everything and just check back in for the title updates, other than that i been trying the occasional thing on gamepass, Trials of Mana is alright but very much a 3D adaptation of a snes game and you can really tell.
i also play Pinball games.

i just do shit my wife likes since i figure i don't have to look at me, she is the one who actively wanted me to grow my beard and hair out, I'm also decently fat so i ended up looking like the kind of guy who probably owns a van with a wizard painted on the side.

at least you made it that far, i dropped to 1 about 15 years ago and kept in contact with him for the longest time, i guess the final straw for him was me getting married.
i guess i did make a new friend 10 years back but he ghosted as well after i got married, from what i understand he was trying to get with my girlfriend if things didn't work out with me and her but he gave up when we got married.
been about 5 years now with hardly hearing from my actual long term friend, i occasionally get a sentence or two here and there but not the daily shit we did for 20 years before this, longest conversation i got out of him was about a house explosion that happened in our hometown.
it isn't even an issue with time, i work early mornings and are off work by 10am most days, outside of having a slightly early bed time i would be available just about every day.
at least my son is into video games too so i got something in common and we play together occasionally.
these days? i hardly have much energy for video games so i play shit super casually or short form games like Balatro, Digital Pinball, or retro arcade games.

i like digital pinball games, kinda want to get a real table but hard to stomach used car prices for one.

Pinball FX - while the Zen originals tend to be hit or miss the Williams recreations are rock solid, it tends to have weird bugs from time to time for example lately on xbox it keeps giving me a trial version of a subscription they discontinued last year so i been able to play several tables for free.
the game was review bombed when it came out as tables purchased in older games didn't carry over.
