i like Black Knight 2000 a fair bit but it didn't reach my top 5 the anon asked for, never played 3000.

i have played a Stern 2022 Godzilla Premium IRL and i cannot recommend it enough, i played it for 3 hours straight when i found it.

Theater of Magic is I think the 2nd highest maintenance pinball machine so it belongs in a computer where everything just works. The only thing worse is the south park machine iirc.

BK3000 is a favorite purely from nostalgia. I love the music, I love the sounds, the table is not really that fun to play but presentation wise it is 11/10.

The last table I played in person that I really enjoyed was a No Good Gophers table. I think that would also work just fine digital.

it's rarely that bad unless you send it out to a shop to do the work, things do break as any mechanical device will but it would reasonably only be $50 here $50 there unless something catastrophic broke, only cascading issues would be if you bought an old game with tons of parts barely holding on, they will all need serviced eventually and it could feel endless but once they are done they should be good for a while.

hyper complicated tables tend to have a lot of things that go go wrong, a big part of moving is removing anything loose from the table, remove the balls, packets inside the play field ect so nothing can rattle around, then inspect the table before applying power to ensure no shorts, but bulbs shouldn't be that bad to replace, remove lockdown bar, remove glass, lift playfield, and they are pretty accessible for the most part.

of course basic soldering skills helps tremendously as cold soldering joints cause a lot of mystery issues.

Movement is so (relatively) slow that positioning is pretty important. Gonna be direct here, Expedition 33 was not that good to me. Its an 8/10 that would have blended well into the 2010's era.
My main gripe is that the game was fun for about 50% of the game. The second half was a slog: combat flattened out with the hit damage cap, the story takes a nose dive, the battle music gets old, and the exploration is either an annoying hunt for skins or boring passive points.
I feel the game is propped up by the hype crowd, the kids have never played a better rpg and it shows.

This is even relevant for having a wife, when your kids are 1-7 years old they’re just a burden and you can spend time at home with them and escape to game for a while, instead of going to a bar or some shit and leaving your wife at home. Some of the best memories are me and my gf playing CoD or Elden Ring together on the weekends.

Absolum was the best game in the latest NextFest, the steam discussions are packed with REEE WOKE, Menace is looking sick, any /vst/ discussion on it will be sperg outs over it having a black woman, Anno 1800 is the best mix of city builder and logistics sim, people constantly sperg out about the black scholars. I do understand "woke fatigue", especially from a corporate product, but I am pretty tired of the discourse invading every corner I use to talk about shit. I learned about Absolum from the Next Fest threads despite not playing any of those demos. Looks really neat.

As for Menace, I'm a bit worried. Not cause of wokeness or anything retarded like that, but I'm not sure they're gonna be able to recreate the storytelling aspect of Battle Brothers. Feels like a step backwards if they go from that to a XCom ripoff.
