Rather than that, I hope it lets Western devs know that it's OK to try and engage with JRPG mechanics without making a weeb game. Not that I have anything against weeb games, it's just weird that an entire genre of games is married to anime aesthetics. I think more variety is good.

I wonder if the popularity of this will result in more Western attempts at JRPG style games. There really haven't been a lot, even if you go back 20 years.
