There's the occasional new movie set in the early to mid 2000s and I rarely even notice. Back then, the 80s felt like a completely different era because you also had a whole other decade with its own identity between now and then. Now, 2005 is just part of the modern era. Nothing is different except for smartphones and social media. There's no fashion or anything that makes me go "whoa, that's so 2000s!". It's all the same shit.
