>Wanted to be a teacher growing up
>Be told by every single person I know, most /especially/ by other teachers, that being a teacher pays absolute shit and sometimes gets compared to being a retail worker
>Look into it after I finally graduated from University
>Teacher salaries have stagnated, but requirements have increased along with staggering increases to the cost of education
Is there any reason why the state can't just sponsor/fund education degrees for those who are going to be educators? Or hell, just increase the salary for state-funded schools so it becomes a more attractive position for prospective teachers instead of the known hell that it presently is?
