System itself is virtual "bubble-stand-up" toy, unless you deliberately fuck it up it will get up on its own whenever something goes wrong. People complaining about hidden settings, telemetry, updates, etc are usually the ones that should NOT temper with those setting as, for example, they lack intelligence required to read the fucking MS manual (it used to be called MS Technet, no fucking idea how it's called now - but content remains the same) and would do more harm.

You can't get same level of compatibility with Linux distros.
