Because LCD technology has liquid in the name for a reason.
The motion is blurry as fuck, and the picture look almost black & white in comparison.
OLEDs basically solve all the LCD issues, but they're expensive.

This is my snes using composite cables, as another example.
Small round details get smoothed out, but, flat, high contrast stuff is still pretty pixelated.

Part of the sharpness probably come from the PAL-M instead of NTSC hueheuheuheuehuehue
But i don't think actual NTSC is much worse.
