I went through this with shitcoins in 2017. Lesson learned is I don't touch anything below 1 bil marketcap (and if I get tempted in like with KIND I never buy significant amounts).

another aspect is the ease of access to pretty much everywhere in the world via the internet, and globalism in general.. there is a sameness throughout all cultures being driven by market forces mostly. subcultures within a society are vanishing, and cultures in other societies are becoming less distinguishable and interesting
