I never see any genuine arguments in defense of this game. The only “praises” I hear it get are just unironic “it’s good because… IT JUST IS OKAY?” It’s a story that lectures its audience about being a better man written by sheltered pseuds who have never suffered a day in their lives, then other sheltered retards who don’t know what a real man should be like fall for it and convince themselves this game has anything of value to say. The fact is this game doesn’t teach you anything. It has no value as an “emotional experience” and is otherwise just a mediocre action RPG. There’s nothing to take away from nu-GoW. Hell, even TLOU2 teaches a better moral than this game. Nu-GoW has nothing to offer to anybody

That’s because it was never meant to be a franchise in the first place. The first game was a one and done kind of game, but Mel and only Mel wanted more out of the franchise so he pushed to have all the other stuff made. Him bending the knee to california was just him being forced to obey orders from above. Of course he doesn’t give a fuck about global audiences or censorship, he only wants to see young girls in underwear just like the rest of us. But california is a tyrant that forces devs to conform and stand in line. The answer to this is for Japan to encourage their home devs to stop catering so much to global markets and focus more on their loyal and longtime consumers right at home in Japan. Japanese devs trying to “Americanize” their franchises ultimately hurts both the studios and especially the gamers both in Japan and America. Americans buy Japanese games because they want to experience Japanese games. If Americans wanted Americanized games, they would buy American games. The Americans who complain about sexualization and problematic content in Japanese videogames are an extremely small minority of Americans who hold no value or power that concerns studios. Studios only listen to this small minority of haters because they choose to. Haters only have as much power as studios give them. If Gust really wants to appeal to Americans for whatever reason they should just make a whole new franchise instead of corrupting their longtime beloved franchises. Notice how terribly Atelier Yumia sold. This will become the standard if Japanese devs keep trying to reach a “global audience”.

People saying you can just drill a hole down there and get him out, consider this
>how do you know the EXACT place he’s in? Look at that cave, it’s like a foot in diameter. How are you gonna triangulate a square foot in the surface of a cave that is at least a hundred square feet large?
>even if you know where exactly to dig, how would you even dig down the exact depth without pulverizing his already decaying remains? what if you drill right through him? then this whole stupid effort will have been for nothing
>where are you gonna get a drill strong enough to carve down that deep? you got a diamond drill in your garage you forgot to mention?
>say you do dig at the exact spot and at the exact depth to safely get him out of there. how EXACTLY do you get him out of there? you could dig a bigger hole and winch someone down there and grab him but then you’d need a bigger drill, and it’d be hard enough even getting a small one that can dig that deep
The guy gets his own personal mausoleum handcrafted by God while the rest of us get thrown in a cheap box and buried in six feet of dirt. If there is an afterlife, I bet you he’s still bragging to everyone about how he was “buried”
